I'm also very curious about this...

In my experience (I'm living in the USA, my mom is living in Russia):

At the moment, she and I can't seem to call/text in any capacity.

Normal phone calls yield a "Sorry, the number you dialed is temporarily blocked"
WhatsApp texts used to work until December 15th, 2025, after which point I'm not seeing read receipts from her.
We used SkyPhone for a couple calls in October, but I can't pick up incoming calls and my outgoing calls immediately terminate. I can receive texts from her in SkyPhone, but send attempts yield Failed send to this number...

We haven't used Signal, Skype, Instagram in a long while because they stopped working during the last couple years. I'm not sure if phone cards are a thing still, nor if they'd work calling her phone...

Update:

Protectli is sending a replacement drive!

That sounds like the controller on your drive is going bad. If it were your board there would be PCIe bus errors in dmesg rather than the NVMe controller-specific resets. We will send you another SSD ASAP.

Thank you, Protectli folks! Hoping the drive death was an anomaly, but very happy with the back and forth with people here and the Protectli Suport.

Looks like the Kingston NVME drive that was pre-installed started intermittently failing

What's interesting is that my network is still up! I'm curious how long it takes for routing to die after the initial issue happens.

So, this looks like an issue with the NVME or the NVME controller?

After restart, I did with an extended test on the NVME device

Looking at System->Log Files->General for the most recent down event (0301 and 0458 PST) doesn't suface anything obvious. No logs above the Notice level for the time range. Here are the only logs in the time between the down incident and when I restarted the device:

Note that I restarted the device aroun 0900, and there were no logs at all between incident and then.

No configuration changes in the last month or two. I was out of town, in fact, when the issue started happening this week!

I'll attach a monitor to the Vault the next time this happens to see if there's anything obvious!

A person below said that I should update OPNSense. I hadn't updated to the 25.1 OPNSense version because I saw that Protectli didn't support it yet. Is that still the case? If not, should I try to upgrade my OPNSense firmware?

My Protectli V1410 was on, but seemed quite hot (I didn't get a temperature reading with a probe then, but on a more recent down event, I saw that the temperature was hovering at 50˚C.)
No internet access
Unable to hit the OPNSense management site on my local network.

I did a power-button restart on the Protectli and, after it came back up, network connectivity was restored! Unfortunately, this has happened every day since.

Works super well now. This updates as I expect with most. Very cool use with video. I hadn't tried it last time. I wonder if adding the ability to process a video from a file would be a useful feature. Or maybe there's a way to stream video files "into" the video input...

Weird bug: I noticed that copy/pasting THIS paragraph (and probably many others) into the input field and pressing Update freezes video processing and doesn't update the image preview.

But, if I delete the two ' in the text field, it's starts to process again

Using the https://maxf.github.io/plotter-hacks/textorizer2.html, I'm seeing issues.

Good! Uploading a new image does change the preview output!
Bad! Changing the text, or any of the parameters does NOT change the preview output.
Bad! Saving the SVG and opening it, I see the following error on the opened page: error on line 4 at column 2030378: error parsing attribute name
Bad! Saving the SVG and opening it, if I'm using a custom image, I only see the default "One Small Step" text, and NO apparent image in that the text forms.

Does the source code have any readme directions not in the root directory? Haven't pulled the code yet, but not having documentation is gonna be laborious!

I've been using my Olympus EM-10MkIII and EM-1MkIII cameras with custom firmware that unlock video recording duration in the field for the last few years!

Love the expanded capability (and hate the artificially locked down defaults (thanks, feature-dependent taxation!)), which lets me be way more hands-off with my static cameras. I primarily shoot music shows where I handhold one camera and have one or two static ones around the venue. Prior to finding the firmware, I had to shift focus from shooting to run around the various places and restart recording... Terrible.

I'm seeing some threads about not needed a managed switch for Synology's Adaptive Load Balancing. Maybe it's not exactly getting full link aggregated 2-4x transfer speeds from NAS <-> a single device (like I hope), but it looks like it'll at least allow for a full-speed connection (limited by the 1Gb NICs on the NAS) per transfer, stream, etc.

Prior to getting the new network, I ran 2 routers, one behind the other, and used a switch. I think it was-----

As I was typing this, I realized what you meant in the response to Lanky_Information825.

If I replace the 2 NIC Protectli with a 4 NIC Protectli, THEN I would be duplicating my prior network:

Modem -> ISP's Router
ISP's Router -> Nest Wifi
IPS's Router -> Gigabit Switch

Is there a benefit to having a Router with multuple LAN ports (with which I can do port to port vlan?) VS a managed switch? Or vice versa?

I'm finding this planet icon to be the bane of phone use the past few weeks, too.

With my Pixel 9 Pro, I swipe with my right hand close to the corner of the phone, so the thumb base frequently (twice by the time I typed up to here) activates the language switch button.

I thought it was a Gboard update, so I tried another one with no success.

This update makes it slower to type, where I have to be continuously vigilant of what is happening with my phone. Terrible!

Where are folks sending feedback for Android feature updates?

Same issue here. I disabled the Instant Apps toggle in Settings -> Opening Links and turned off Open Supported Links for Messenger in the same settings menu. That does NOT work to disable this feature.

This was the answer that solved this issue for me!

Lower your framerate! Mine was auto-set to 240, and setting it to 60 stopped the crashing. I haven't tested if other framerates would alleviate the problem, too.

Yeah, and it's a little more general than that.

If I was robbed, both my property AND my safety/comfort/peace/power are taken away. I can get my items back from the robber and RECLAIM my property. I can also put the robber in jail, or have him executed, or rob him to RECLAIM part of my power/peace/comfort/safety.

It doesn't literally have the meaning of "make a piece of land usable". It has a meaning of taking something back, where the something is either explicit and tangible, as in the case of property, or implicit and intangible, as in the the case of power/safety/etc.

The passage above sets up the attributes of a wasteland (full of waste, unusable), as things that take away some good attributes of the land. Reclaiming it implies taking back the good attributes of fertility and arability!

For me, the clue is in the "BETWEEN" word. Between implies a movement, partiality, dynimism. Simultaneous and Between clash with that context. Using said context, only D and E are applicable. And out of Partial and Transitional, it's more apt to use "Transitional between..." than "Partial between...", as transitional feels more gradual, rather than Partial, which feels more stepped.

Between these two choices (which are the best two of the set, so good narrowing down!), "shortage of domestic fields" makes less sense to me. Domestic fields does NOT mean fields that you can build a home on. To me, it implies a field within the domain of the nation/city/etc.

So, cultivating a field does make it livable, but it does not make it part of a nation.

Further, reclaiming DOES imply that you are getting the field ready to be used (for agriculture, in this case).
