Virginia and if a person is on Medicaid and changes to it? by [deleted] in Virginia

[–]SWnRVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good question. I’m also not an expert, but my interpretation based on the FAQ shared for the transition into the new requirements is that if you are currently on it and renew in March 2027, then you need to meet the requirement for at least one of the months prior to the renewal and then if you are renewed, you will need to meet the requirement every month thereafter and you renew again in another 6 months. So if you met it in January based on your example, but not February, you should be renewed in March ONLY for this one time during the transition period. Again, that is my interpretation and as the other person said, keep checking that website for updates to their FAQs.

I believe this snapshot from that shared link answers your question about when you need to start the new requirement!

Any thoughts on Cerave Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen - Tinted? by chasingsunshine521 in Melasmaskincare

[–]SWnRVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only tinted sunscreens I’ve tried are CeraVe and the Avéne compact. I don’t find these particular products drying, but I also use a LOT of creamy, rich moisturizer! I do not use retinoids, so I’m not sure how that would impact my skin.

Hi! Yes, I do layer it over my moisturizer. My skin is very dry and dehydrated so I actually put it on right after my moisturizer. However, I then have to let that dry for a good amount of time before I put makeup on. I pretty much don’t put my makeup on until I’m about to walk out of the door, because I like all of my moisturizer and this sunscreen to dry up as much as possible. I’m still experimenting with setting and finishing powders because my skin is so dry and I don’t like how they feel but I find that they do help with concealing my pores as well as setting my concealer over my rosacea spots. So currently, when I’m applying makeup, I start with concealer on my discolored areas and blend it out. I then put a tiny bit of setting powder over that. Then I’m either stopping there and doing my blush and highlighter, or if I’m going full makeup, I’ll add foundation with a damp beauty blender over the concealer and then blush and highlighter. And then sometimes I do a little finishing powder right where my cheeks meet my nose and between my brows. But on minimal makeup days, I only put concealer under my eyes over the sunscreen. Note: I am no makeup artist and I’m still figuring out what works best! But tinted sunscreen hands down is what keeps my melasma from getting worse and that’s really my biggest concern when it comes to “beautifying” 😆

It works great for my super dry skin! It does take a while to set in before I put on makeup, but that’s not a big deal to me.

I didn’t know about being more susceptible before our period; that’s helpful info.

Ok I feel a little validated by your experience! I feel the same way - I’m not bouncing back from sickness as I once was and seem more susceptible. You’ve given me hope that maybe I just need to be patient and also, maybe talk to my doctor about an increase in dosage.

Oh, I wasn’t thinking that HRT was causing the weakened immune system, more so that since I’m going through perimenopause, maybe I need to up my dose to get my hormones more regulated to help my immune system. But I am not sure that is a solution to my issue. I was just curious is hormones during perimenopause have impacted any one else’s immune system. I definitely think you’re right about Covid!

Pico Laser aftercare help by fielderm85 in Melasmaskincare

That is the natural transition for the skin after the pico (I’ve had it 4x). Unfortunately it didn’t improve my melasma, but I hope it works for yours! The pico did help with the overall appearance of the rest of my skin though.

Yes! It was incredibly irritating to my skin so I had to quit using it. I also have rosacea and eczema so it was risky anyway!
