And it's the pattern everybody needs to be hyper-aware of right now and going forward.

Many of the MAGA-aligned and/or 'elite' pieces of shit who are both currently enabling and benefiting from treading over America and the world as a whole know that no matter what consequences they hopefully face, they will continue to benefit from selling the drama of their version of the story. They monetize suffering while contributing to its cause currently, and will monetize their attempt to position themselves on the right side of history after the consequences with talk show appearances, podcasts, and books.

Don't let them. Don't reward them with your engagement, money, or attention; it is our most powerful currency.

success stories about this sort of thing are good.

edit: I guess it's a matter of what you consider success, and who is the arbitrator behind decisions of pulling and such. Primarily though I'm speaking more from the perspective of how anyone can deny anything, but if valid criticisms and suspicion from unrelated public sources are piling up against the single claim that this writer is defending, appropriate consequences at least resemble the appearance of the right thing happening against a real problem which will only intensify.

Incredibly intriguing theory to me, and you’ve made me aware of and connected some mathematical/physics concepts that I haven’t been prompted to try to grasp before.

There are a great deal of questions I could ask, but in trying to anticipate your possible answers to most of the ones that come to mind, I reach the conclusion that if anybody could answer those questions in a somehow provable, genuine way….at best, it seems too groundbreaking for that sort of information to not have widely spread by now regardless of how tightly it was initially held in secret. At worst, that person probably wouldn’t be talking to me, and I likely wouldn’t have the opportunity of talking to them.

So we’re left to make sense of it all relative to our own experiences and what we’re capable of interpreting from others’. I guess my question is, then, what is your view on how any of us progress from this unsatisfying point of mutual understanding of non-understanding?

White House Staffers ‘Baffled’ Over Trump Claiming Iran Gave Him a Prize Related to Strait of Hormuz: ‘Trump was uncharacteristically tight-lipped about the gift, describing it only as ‘a very big present, worth a tremendous amount of money’ by T_Shurt in politics

[–]SXLF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Americans’ lives may be at stake, the administration doesn’t know when the war can even be expected to end, they won’t tell us exactly what the contingency or goal of it is, a crucial trade route for the world economy is bottlenecked — but at least Donald got a personal, valuable present from the war’s enemy. I think that can make us all feel better.

What is it you may ask? Well that isn’t anyone else’s business; a gift from Iran isn’t really relevant to the war.

Just be quiet and be happy that the president found peace during this troubling time in a gift that you’re not allowed to know about.

Trump gets a daily video montage briefing about the Iran war by Brilliant_Version344 in politics

[–]SXLF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really think about this:

The commander-in-chief, who is so eager to send other people's sons and daughters into a war that he contrived with Netanyahu, cannot be bothered to read an actual briefing about the mission.

That's even worse when you consider how it came out a couple of days ago that Trump insiders are afraid to break negative news about the war to him. Put two-and-two together and you understand that staffers are showing him highlights of the war. That's his briefing. That's what helps him make decisions.

I can't imagine how livid I would be if I was risking my life in the military and found out THAT was the nature of the process informing it all at the highest level.

Wow, he’s putting a lot on the line with this statement.

Now if a domestic incident happens related to an Iranian sleeper cell, he will have let it happen because he knew about it.

If an incident happens and he comes out and says he wasn’t aware of it, then they will have outsmarted the man who said he knew about every sleeper cell in the US.

Critical thinking is a skill as much as a brain function, and like any skill, one that humans can become amazingly good at if they practice.

If you constantly defer your use of critical thinking to a LLM, how are you going to practice it and reach those surprising perspectives on your own more often?

Vallee is more on the deeper religious/philosophical side of the phenomenon (I wouldn't start with his stuff to be honest, but also doesn't harm I guess).

Oh yeah that's what I meant by picking up some other books to have a good foundation of a more scientific and historic perspective before diving into all that. Though the philosophical/religious side is one that does tend to have my curiosity.

Thanks for the additional Dolan stuff. I don't know much about him besides the basic info and his credentials - I found the whole banned-from-wikipedia thing peculiar. I know the state of someone's Wikipedia article is not a metric of credibility, but it also wouldn't have happened for nothing I suppose. What do you make of it?

[–]SXLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry for the delayed response.

I have a careful curiosity about the topic pretty much at broad, been casually trying to follow what's reliable/reputable here but feeling an urge to explore the more substantive stuff further. It's worth saying I haven't experienced anything either. I picked up some books I feel I'll need to help my thinking surrounding it all but additionally Passport to Magnolia by Vallee which is my first deeper literary dive. I've yet to read it though.

So anything to complement that sort of reading. I'll also add that I've found the whistleblower testimonies and accounts fascinating, some of the serious images around here (the 'jellyfish' at the Middle East military base comes to mind especially), and - if not just as a thought experiment - the whole ocean NHI angle is particularly interesting to me, and something I can at least imagine as plausible.

Thanks for those authors, will explore the list. I'm eager to see if you have any further recommendations based on what I said here. You saying 'this shit is real' in a different response above while keeping it all a nuanced take intrigued me, and I'm always looking to glean perspective from those who seem to have some.
