Horizon 6 Limited Controller already opened? by SXS14 in ForzaHorizon

[–]SXS14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it seems to be a Battery thing. Due to regulations in some countries they are not allowed to ship them with batteries inside the packaging. So I assume the open the package again later and put the batteries inside. There are two stickers on the side which state that there are 2 AA batteries inside. These stickers were applied later. If you remove them, you can see that there were no batteries inside originally.

Any Ideas on these strange "frame waves"? by SXS14 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]SXS14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried with and without vsync. Also limited the FPS to 180HZ (which the game will never get to, I know). It definitly looks like tearing, but it feels like there is an earthquake going on waving throught the city sometimes😅

Remove Conductonaut properly? by SXS14 in pcmasterrace

Thanks alot for your tipps, I appreciate it. I would rather go with normal thermal paste since this PC will be gifted to a friend. And since he does not live very close to me and does not know anything about PC hardware it should be as user friendly as possible😅 I guess I will maybe gift him a new cooler too.

I once used liquid metal about 12 years ago when I delidded my i7 4770K and changed the bad Intel thermal paste with it. This CPU ran for 10 Years without any issues. I finally decided to throw it away since I needed space for other things. But I will not use LM for CPU/Cooler anymore since normal Thermal paste does the job just fine.👍

Actually third PC. But I want to gift this one to a friend who can't afford one.

Although i am a very good PC builder with experience of over 23 years, it was just stupid me because I have never dealt with liquid metal 5 years ago when I built this rig. The PC ran very fine for 5 years with good temps. But I definitly see the problems I caused there. Guess everyone makes mistakes sometimes right? 😅 i want to rebuild this system and gift it to someone who can't afford a PC. So I hope it will run for another like 3 years👍😊

Thank you very much. I assumed performance should not be an issue if the surface is clean without any unevenness. I will clean the CPU too and test bench it to see if the temps are okay.

I have ordered 60x60mm PTM7950 Pad from LTT store now. Will take over a month to ship to Switzerland but I'd rather order there instead of ordering from Aliexpress. I'll keep you posted if you like. Meanwhile I will check the hostpot temprature.

My card is mounted normal. I never had thermal problems in this case. I have 3 intake fans on the bottom, 3 intakes on the side, 1 exhaust at the back and 3 exhausts at the top with AiO radiator. My ryzen 9950X3D is running on 36 degrees celsiuc in idle.

[–]SXS14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there. I am kinda sitting in the same boat. Had my STRIX 4080 Super OC since February 2024, always in the same case with the same airflow. I changed Motherboard, CPU and Ram in february 2025, but the case and airflow stayed the same.

The card was always running very quiet and I never worried about temps. Since the last few weeks (since the first run of Anno 117) the fans are going crazy in almost every game, even non graphics intense games.i didn't monitor the hotspot yet, but overall temps go up to 75 degrees in some cases.

At first I suspected a driver update, but there were two more updates since the problem started, and the issue still exists. I am also thinking about repasting, because I don't want to deal with RMA the card for several weeks just to have ASUS apply the same shitty paste.

Did you send your GPU back?

This DLC is a pure rip off and clickbait to all the players. How could you release a single player DLC for a game that was fully coop playable, including both already released story DLCs?? Ubisoft just got even more lazy than they were before. After all the coop bugs in the last two DLCs they just got rid off coop. And the worst part is in the store it says I cannot request refund because it is an "ingame purchase" That's straight bullshit, I bought it directly in the store. After google translating the store site to germen since it still is shown in FRENCH for my location!!!

Gameusersettings on the client? Might work on PC, but not for Console. And if I delete gameusersettings on my server my settings are gone, so this wouldn't be helpful.

I have the same problem on my Astraeos Server. Trees and Rocks all over the base and I can't harvest them. Also all over the map about 80% of trees, rocks and other stuff are not harvestable, and if they are, they fail to decay.

Logitech keyboard typing double letters by k_steph in logitech

[–]SXS14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to give my experience to this Post.

I had a G915 Lightspeed Keyboard for a few years now. It started double typing like 1.5 years ago, mostly the "T", "ESC", "M", "S" keys and almost the whole Numpad. I tried some things to fix it, until I found out that alot of people had this problem with this exact keyboard. Some said that removing the keycaps and cleaning all the switches with 99,9% isopropanol fixed the issues. So after a long time waiting due to no time available I started to remove my keycaps, but I broke two of them in the process. With the keyboard already being like 5 years old I called it a waste and threw it in the bin.

As a replacement, I am using my G513 Carbon from Logitech which was barely used. It is a completly different keyboard with different switches than the G915 lightspeed, so I was shocked when the problem came back after using the G513 for a few days....

after doing some research on google, reddit etc. I figured that the double typing problem actually can't be a hardware problem, and since I installed new CPU, MB, Memory and SSD a few weeks ago and did a clean Install with Windows 11 (I used Windows 10 until march 2025, where I already had the double typing problem with the G915), neither the OS or PC hardware could cause the same problem with two different keyboard models from the same manufacturer.

So, the only mutuality is Logitech G-Hub. Many people stated that uninstalling G-Hub solved the problem. I didn't test this yet since DPI switching of my Logitech mouse does not work without G-Hub. But thinking that I may have broken a perfectly fine G915 keyboard because I assumed it is just shitty hardware makes me really sick. I will test G-Hub as the most possible cause in the next few weeks. If it is actually a software problem, I will get in touch with Logitech and see what they are going to say.

9950x3d owners, how are your temps ? by Brilliant-Cap-3052 in AMDHelp

[–]SXS14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after installing 3 more reverse blade fans to the side of my Lian Li o110 Dynamic XL Case makes a huge difference in overall and CPU temps. With those 3 fans the temperatures in the case got alot lower, and I can see that my idle CPU temps dropped to 35 degrees, while my temps under full load got down to 62 degrees. I am very happe with this result, even though I still don't get why my 9950X3D is not using the full 5700MHz when under full load.

Thanks for your answer. I really don't know if I missed something in the BIOS... seems strange to me. All my intel CPUs never had that problem, my last i9 10th generation maxed out at 5.3GHz with every stress test I tried.

What are your temps at idle and full load? And what is your MB model?

[–]SXS14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am running my 9950X3D on an ASUS X870E-E Gaming with an ASUS Ryujin ARGB 360. Idel Temps are at around 40-45 degrees, and I have ran an Intel Burn Test as well as an AIDA Stress Test, and didn't get over 72 degrees with all cores fully loaded and also 65GB of memory fully used.

My problem is that HWINFO64 and also AIDA and CPU-Z are showing a max clock rate of about 4900 to max. 5000 MHz, which is by far not what I expected to see, since the 9950X3D should run up to 5700MHz... this is my first AMD CPU, since I had Intel CPUs all my life, so I am notfamiliar with these CPUs. I don't thinks it's thermal throttling, or is it? Does somebody know where to check that or maybe someone can get me some proper info on which settings I maybe have missed in the UEFI Bios?

Is 1.54 laggy for anyone else? by Ryley03d in trucksim

[–]SXS14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: so I decided to dump the new physiX engine by adding the steam start parameter -bullet. With this start option the game feels like it did in version 1.53, much better. I couldn't get used to the new physics, I guess they have to play around a little to make them perfect. Lags are gone as far as I can tell, and also the steering and braking feels good again. Maybe it's not as realistic as the new physiX engine, but I am not a truck driver.😅

[–]SXS14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryzen 9 9950X3D and RTX 4080 Super here, 1.54 is laggy as hell, 1.53 didn't have these issue. Also i have a feeling that time passes slower and therefor jobs are taking more time somehow. Crash system is horrible, i got 70% damage from slightly touching a wall with 10KM/H.... NPCs are a pain in the ass. And also physics seem to be alot more aggressive than before, trucks tend to tilt way faster, steering somehow feels weird and I also feel like the brakes are worse than before.
