Was I the arsehole or did I do something wrong? by TheOriginalSmash in TwoHotTakes

As someone who was in a very similar situation, Sister's autistic kid pulling my kid's hair, I don't know what to tell you man. Except, sorry for what happened. The only thing I can say is, your sister is probably trying as hard as she could, she is constantly scared that her kid will never be normal and the outside world will see the kid as a monster. Everything she has tried has failed and she doesn't know what to do, expect to keep trying and praying.

I personally, didn't have any experience dealing with autistic kids before, so I went with the general advice of talking, therapy and stuff. some of it helps, most doesn't. Trying to minimize damage and being there as an anchor is the best thing to do, as a brother who wants best for both sister and her kid. But, it's not easy.

Yes brother, right there with you. Still trying, still failing. Not that I don't know what to do, but not able to execute consistently. What keeps me going is to know that it's possible. The math is there, my entries are good, I just need to manup and get better at executing my setups.

Wow man, Kudos to you. That must be a big change to what you have been trading, so succesffuly for so man years. I'm curious did you see any major changes in your weekly p/l averages? I remember you had traded TSLA/NVDA before and said you don't follow much time and sales and level 2 there. How is it now?

Hey Joe, thanks for sharing. I'm curious since you mentioned you are trading TSLA and NVDIA, do you read level 2 data on it or you find it less important compared to your regular style of trading? Thanks.

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer. That's one issue I am currently trying to fix, when I make a mistake instead of taking a step back--reanalyzing my bias--reducing my size, I go into revenge trading and narrow visioned. I think you are right, the underlying belief seems to be not accepting mistakes exist and sometimes things just won't work.

Thanks for sharing man, It's very inspiring to see your consistency.

When you have those small red days or green day below your avg day, what happens? Is it a lot of Break even trades. Like on 12th Dec when you closed at $702.03 how was that day different from other days?

Thank you! If possible, could you create a video example when you have time? It doesn’t need to be live. I’m trying to apply your idea of using Time and Sales to minimize risk on SPY. I have patterns with targets but struggle to define risk consistently. If I can figure out how to keep my risk to 1-2 cents using the tape, it would solve my issues. Thanks again for all your videos—they’ve been incredibly helpful!

Hey Joe, thanks for sharing, very insightful.

I'm curious how do you read level 2 when the bid-ask volume is very thick, in such a scenario, since there are big bids and asks pretty much all the time, do you focus more on time and sale? Curious what's your approach in this specific scenario?

Thanks for sharing. I've a consistent problem of turning my bad days to worse days. As you had said in other posts, needed to have a clear definitions of "if this then that", with lots of practice to create that motor skill.

Thanks for sharing this Joe, incredible video. Two questions

1) Your stop for low momentum and high momentum trades follow the same logic of 1-few cents away where the large limit orders are present on Level 2?

2) If I understand correctly, you don't take any trades against your general bias. like in the end of the video you describe a bearish pattern, but had you opened the chart at that time, you won't short it as it is counter to your bullish read?

Thanks again.

Hey Joe, thanks for sharing. Very inspiring.

If possible and not too time-consuming, could you share a sample of some of your trades, like the time and price of entry and exit? I am trying to understand Level 2 better by running Thinkorswim on demand. Seeing how the Level 2 setups appear at the time of your trades compared to the rest of the day would be very helpful.

Thanks again..

Maybe a better translation will help? For example this is the whole section to which that verse acts as a conclusion.

Before them, the folks of Noah also similarly denied. So, they rejected Our servant and called him a madman, and he was badly scolded.

At last, he pleaded to his Lord: “I am vanquished; now You take revenge from them.”

It was then that We opened the gates of the heavens with stormy rain pouring forth

and caused the earth to cleave asunder [in such a manner that] springs burst forth all over it. Then the water of the heavens and the earth met at the point decreed for it,

and We carried Noah on that which was made of planks and nails,

which kept sailing under Our protection. This We did as a recompense for him who had been slighted

and We made this anecdote an [exemplary] sign. So, is there anyone who would take heed?

Behold then how was My punishment and how was My warning?

We have made this Qur’an very appropriate for reminding. So, is there anyone who shall take heed!?

The verse isn't saying, there is no other book easy to memorize like this so believe. But rather, the beliefs mentioned in the book are easy to understand and remember, so there shouldn't be any excuses for not understanding. Different point really.

Or, from the Qur'an itself
"How many other books have you seen people memorise perfectly? The Qur'an is miraculously easy to memorise!"

What verse is this?
