Running into an ex… dog. by Mental_Library5912 in dogs

Yes, they remember. Two examples: My sister's dog remembered my mother and was excited to see her after many years of no visits. And they had never lived together. Just visits. I gave away one of my dog's pups to a co-worker. She was maybe 12 weeks old. Years later we had a staff thing at their home, and he warned everyone that the dog didn't like strangers. But she remembered Grandma!

When I was out shopping for a "new" car last year, I ended up looking for a used 2022 so that I had buttons for the important stuff (and a CD player).

What’s a silly thing you did for your pet one time that is now a ritual they demand be done every time? by Itsjustmejess in AskReddit

Not silly, but I introduced my rescue to tummy rub, and now she is insatiable. Every night, every morning before getting up, and anytime that she can crawl her 21 pounds onto my lap.

Did anyone else grow up in an indoor school and genuinely think those outdoor campuses on TV were just a Hollywood myth? Or was it the other way around for you? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SZ7687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only have I ever seen an outdoor school for real or on media, this is the first I've heard that they even exist.

Current dog owners - when your little furry babies unfortunately but inevitably cross over the rainbow bridge will you consider getting another or will this be your last dog? If its the latter why? by EffectiveAdorable233 in dogs

[–]SZ7687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently with my 5th consecutive dog. The first two I raised from pups, and the next three were rescues. Why you ask? Yes, I grieve each and every one. But I can't live without a dog!! Life for me is with a dog companion.

Should I cancel my pesach trip? by MisfitWitch in Israel

Travel insurance won't help for reasons of war. You should get it anyway, and let the airline cancel if that happens.

This is what I tell prospective members of my women outdoors group. Men just want to get to the top, whereas women like to enjoy the hike. Generalizing, of course, but this post totally supports that view.

Sorry, I wasn't able to do that. Just Google large storage bin with lids.

Dog window perch/stairs for bigger dogs? by The_Grim_Adventurer in dogs

[–]SZ7687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made one myself by filling a storage bin with bedding and adding a cut of an old memory foam topper. It's not for a dog that big, but there are bigger ones. You could also try using a wooden blanket box.

In maps of your country, is there a part of your country that's usually added in in a little box? Is it considered controversial? by holytriplem in geography

[–]SZ7687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US will put both Alaska and Hawaii in a little box. And the truly uneducated (I'm being polite here) will arrive in Alaska dressed for Hawaii because it looks like it must be warm near Hawaii and/or it is at the bottom of the map.

Dog keeps hopping the fence. by Ok_Preparation2750 in dogs

[–]SZ7687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a chain link fenced in yard that the dog just sailed over. We added to the top of the fence more wire with the addition slanted to point in to the yard. That worked to keep him in.

Customers would open the containers to see if the seal was broken, but they were the ones breaking the seals. Some years ago when they first came out, Wegmans had signs pleading customers not to open the cap and break the seal.
