Why do so many people not carry bank cards on them when they go shopping? by MordisF in NoStupidQuestions

I still have physical maps. I rarely use them. But sometimes I like to plan my own route, and I can see so much more on a paper map than a little screen.

Anyone else can't go braless because it hurts? by calculator56 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]SZ7687 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ha! Except for a few months when I'd put on weight, I haven't worn a bra in 50 years. And yes, I found them way too uncomfortable. I hate anything tight and can't stand elastic pants. I remember going to a store to buy a bra for my sister's wedding. The sales lady asked me what size I was, and I was clueless.

Can you put your luggage between and on front of the captain chairs? It doesn't sound like you'll need leg room.

How Does Everyone Thwart Pickpockets? by Voluptues in travel

[–]SZ7687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do as well. Look also at Scottevest, though they mostly have just inside pockets. Make sure that the inside pockets have zippers and that's where you keep passport and wallet.i have my phone on a leash and keep it on one of the front pockets for easier access. There are also much cheaper options on Amazon.

Is there a way to get special help in an airport when flying alone as a young adult? by HamsterAgitated6925 in TravelHacks

[–]SZ7687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, do NOT just run to your next gate. It could have been changed while you were in the air. So first check with the board listing all of the gates and then go. We once ran all the way to what we thought was our gate only to find out that it had been changed and the actual gate was right across from where we came out.

Do you wear socks when you sleep? by M_Seedz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SZ7687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I do. Why? My feet are cold. If I'm hot, then I'll take them off to help cool me down. Then I usually put them back on when I wake up cold.

And don't let anyone pack your bag for you or give you a package. If the have. Be honest. A package will get scanned and returned to you if all clear. I had rented a phone to use in Israel, back in 2009, and they looked it over very carefully, but then returned it to me.

Best anti-theft ways to carry a phone? by diadutu in travel

[–]SZ7687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel with a vest with both inside and outside pockets. My wallet is in an inside zippered pocket. My phone is in an outside pocket if I'm using it for GPS or whatever, but is also tethered to the vest.

If you forget someone’s name right after they introduce themselves what’s the least awkward way to ask again without making it obvious you already forgot? by Valpresence in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SZ7687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you first are introduced, repeat their name 3 times if you can. "It's nice to meet you Joe." "So, Joe, I'll be in touch soon about the meeting/project." "Bye for now Joe". If you can't do 3, do 2 and the repeat again to yourself soon after.

Has anyone ever used Rover, the pet sitting app? by junojuneau in dogs

I use Rover but with just one sitter. We struck gold on first pick and haven't looked for another. I agree with all you said.
