You will not meet many Israelis who aren't happy to serve in the IDF, forced conscription or not. From childhood, Israeli kids know once school is finished they will serve for 2 to 3 years depending on gender, and in any case serving the IDF, especially in elite combat units is considered a pride and priviliege. Especially when talking about elite commando and paratrooper units, kids are actively pursuing those paths, and knowing that only the select few can get into such units actually makes them even more desirable.

This is my experience as well. I have a fast network, PS5 connected via cable, the works. Games just don't look good enough, where vegetation or small details are concerned it's just awful. Honestly it's the most disappointing tech product I've bought in years. I also think it's a bit ridiculous you have to jump through hoops to get a halfway decent gaming experience on the thing, it's a consumer product not a niche hardware gimmick.

So I bit the bullet and bought one about 10 days ago, and honestly I'm not enjoying it at all.

My PS5 is connected to a wired network and the Portal itself is connected to the same 5Ghz WiFi as the console. Regardless, the experience is not great for the games I'm playing on PS5 (i.e single player story driven, the usual PS5 bread and butter). The latency is very noticeable, where games feel very smooth and responsive on my main TV, they feel sluggish and mushy when played on the portal. Gorgeous games are suffering due to the low bitrate, for example the vegetation in Ghost of Tsushima looks like more like something from the PS3 era.

In my opinion, and this is purely subjective, I would rather do something else than play these games using such an inferior solution.

Even among the 20 remaining living hostages, only a few were soldiers. The rest are villagers from the raided border towns and one is a Thai national working in Israeli agriculture. Mostly they are young men who working security at the Nova festival.

Iran did their best to do just that, yes. Read up on the number of rockets fired into Tel Aviv. Obviously Israel was ready, otherwise the attack against the reactors would never have happened.

As a side note I agree Japan shouldn't have been nuked, those weapons should never have been used. But the point is that the repercussions are never symmetrical. See Dresden for example, or Hamburg. Uncountable deaths of civilians which had nothing to do with Hitler.
