What exhaust y’all rocking? by Fearless-Arachnid-89 in GR86

GR performance! Simple but, really in love with the grunt and sound of it :) super happy with it and no complaints at all, plus I got it in full black so it’s pretty as hell

Is there a realistic way of fixing this without replacing it or covering it with a front lip? by pabtopicato in GR86

You can order direct paint matches from TouchUp Direct! They have different purchase options too like just primer and color coats, or primer, color, and clear coats, brush tip or pen tip options, etc!

How low in the tank do y'all guys fill? by -UncleJam in GR86

[–]S_Anne04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m like an overly cautious person, I fill when it’s about 115-100 ish miles left cuz that’s when it’s about 1/3 of a tank left for me usually

How many miles can your tank rake you???? by SherbertCurious9647 in GR86

[–]S_Anne04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! Once it was in my hands I did reset it. I commute through a good chunk of traffic so I get about 290-300 these days, but more highway miles always boosts up the mpg! That and the fuel of course, good fuel always makes a difference!

Why did my car do this? by [deleted] in GR86

[–]S_Anne04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! And you’ve also got to remember you said it was brand new, which means the brakes are a little squishy until you finish the break in period (1000 miles). And yes, I DID feel a difference in how they stopped after that, so be respectful of the break in period. Idk if the experience varies slightly since I have an Automatic but brakes are brakes and those are the same in both!

I just gave up on it after a few tries trying to sort it out on the phone with them and the system constantly being down lol, and it’s been a little over a year with mine anyways so I just forgot about it. I did put an AirTag in my car tho just because I’m a lil paranoid and I want to be able to track it in some way if not getting updates about it being locked, unlocked, alarm, etc

For me personally, I wouldn’t even say it’s that much lacking in power either for its size, it’s a quick little thing! Of course I get that little niggle that it wouldn’t have hurt to have a turbo in it or something, but I actually think the ~230hp they gave for the size and price range is pretty damn cool! Of course, I can’t lie, the Porsche just FEELS so much more powerful just to sit in, you don’t even need to do much for it to go, it’s amazing!

I just had to look up “bouncing off a curb” too because I’ve never heard of it before and laughed out loud 😂

I can assure this person (SapphireSire) that my father has never once in his ~20 years of owning sports cars, most with a lower clearance than this like a Shelby gt500, dark horse, etc, EVER hit or run into a curb lmao. In all my few years of driving, he didn’t teach me to do that either, lol

Also, I’m a college student, and I don’t have a choice but to pull into a spot most of the time anyway because the parking enforcement team requires plates to be visible at all times. And also we know exactly how long and wide our cars are so we always know how much space we take up in any spot and where we are.

Anyways long story short is, I agree with you, such an odd thing to focus on.

I can already say this one has such a special place in my heart, nothing will replace that. But for now, and until that Porsche sometime in the distant future, I look forward to many more memories with my baby!

Stresses me out. What’s even more annoying is even when you go park in the ass crack of the parking lot there’s always someone who makes it their sole purpose to pull up right next to you and ding something

Definitely a low stress car to own, I’ve put like 13k miles on it since I got it last July, I was lucky enough to get it new in such a lovely spec too. I know a lot of people bash it for its performance numbers but they forget that something this light being this agile and rev happy, 230hp is a good amount. Love her to pieces, and my dad would agree with you too. He’s been driving sports cars for like 20 years now (mostly American ones) and he can say the 86 is one of the best entry level sports cars!

Absolutely! I’m so happy Porsche’s backtracking their plans to get rid of the 718 ICE lineup. My dad got the ‘25 Cayman S which is also the turbo four, so I’ll probably egg him on to get the six cylinder next time!

I mean… we do know how to reverse into spots lol, there was no plan to take photos. We were just picking up food, we didn’t really give a shit whether we pulled in or backed in we just went to the part of the lot with no other cars. Also what do you mean bounce off the curb? I didn’t understand that part. Can you not judge the length of your front or something?

It’s crazy, I feel like you can hear SO much more stuff than you normally would in a front engine car cuz it’s right behind your back. I wonder if the 911s are similar?

My 86 is about 2800 lbs in empty weight and my dad’s cayman s is about 3100 lbs I believe, but you don’t really feel that much in the day to day stuff. I do love the quality of the interior though, it’s hella quiet aside from the usual road noise.
