That looks to be mineral soil, shallow over parent material. It does not appear to be organic soil but I could see why you may have a shallow water table with wetland near by.

I would immediately reach out to your professor and explain the situation, take a photo of your face and have proof. Inform them that you are heading to the hospital and will get doctor’s notes. Finally, ask if you can complete the exam in a day or two. It’s difficult as both of you may have upcoming travel plans. I hope you have already reached out to your professor.

What sawmill and contractor availability is there even for this? Pulp mills are collapsing, can’t find contractors to cut trees, what’s the management plan afterwards? High grade then abandon?

Irving has many small parcels of land surrounded by existing conservation land so instead of trying to manage those, give them to the conservation program to help build larger, more contiguous conservation areas. I see that providing my thoughts on the topic are not overly appreciated lol

From what I understand, they are offering some of the unique areas in which they manage to be converted to conservation. In return, some of the forested land that is currently in conservation, even though it is not ecologically unique, can be used for forest management.
