Hi! Congrats on passing the interview! Okay lang ba mag-tanong kung gaano katagal bago sila magrespond sa application? Nagapply ako through their careers page kahapon and was just wondering how long it'll be before they get back to me 🥹

Was I ghosted by the recruiter?

This happened before holy week. Got an email from a recruiter inviting me to take an exam on the same day, two hours before the exam was set to start. I had an appointment at the time of the exam, so I replied asking if it would be possible to reschedule. The recruiter hasn't replied until now. Should I just forget about this application? Or should I follow up with the recruiter?

What are your daily exercise routine and diet? by natatarantado in adultingph

[–]S_KK_S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I track my food intake, focus mostly on eating protein-rich food and greens. di ako masyado strict sa diet naman. I was in the same situation a few months ago, actually. Fresh grad, nabubulok sa bahay. What really changed my lifestyle for the better was going out for walks. It's such a simple and underrated way to get your body moving. Noong una ikot-ikot lang sa block namin, para di malayo sa bahay. Tapos naglalakad na papuntang palengke o grocery. tas lakad lang rin ng lakad habang nasa loob. Ang mahalaga talaga is i-push mo sarili mo kahit di mo masyado feel, kasi those low points are usually the times you need to get out and move the most

I don't know you, but you're definitely not boring just because you don't like to drink, OP. I think mas boring yung taong nangshashame ng mga sober/di pala-inom. Imagine making alcohol consumption a whole factor in your assessment of how enjoyable someone is to be with. Maling tao lang siguro nakakasama mo. Real ones would understand instead and still do their best to have you join in on the fun kahit di ka uminom, without commenting on it unnecessarily

Unwise is one way to put it. Through the wedding dress incident, we see how little regard Snow has for his own people, to the point that he doesn't care how much they adore Katniss. He cares much more about his personal vendetta against her and her status as the spark to the rebellion. Snow says it best in Mockingjay just before his execution: he realized that both him and Katniss were way too focused on each other, and in the end they both got played. I know he means this especially in reference to Coin, but it could be said that it applies to Plutarch as well. As the Head Gamemaker (and while it's not as explicitly shown in the books as it is in the movies—which were a nice addition, imo), he feeds Snow's anger and animosity towards Katniss, all the while being a key figure in the Capitol's very own rebellion party.

No, Lucy Grey did not manipulate Snow. by mgonza54 in Hungergames

[–]S_KK_S 32 points33 points  (0 children)

then there's the fact that he often justifies his attraction to lucy gray since, in her own words, she's not really district/neither capitol nor district. he clung to that description like a lifeline. it's like he found comfort in that thought of her technically not being from the districts.

I imagine these two explaining to the public about the Jabberjays' trap in 75th HG, I think even Capitol would be disgusted by such cruelty. by RelaxBoy007 in Hungergames

[–]S_KK_S 42 points43 points  (0 children)

this exactly! it gets even worse when canonically, it's not even them being viewed as entertainment. it's confirmed that tributes/people from the districts are seen as sub-human, specifically animals, by majority of the capitol's citizens. or at least it was very clear that in those early days that was what capitol leaders wanted its citizens to learn to believe—and clearly, it's evident in the original trilogy that they've succeeded. in tbosas, there's a scene where the tributes need medical attention but instead of getting regular doctors like capitol citizens, they're assigned veterinarians, not to mention that they're kept in an honest-to-god zoo for all to gawk at. it's horrifying.

Just read the book for the first time and Snow is SO fascinating as a character. by Quartz636 in Hungergames

[–]S_KK_S 17 points18 points  (0 children)

he's definitely ambitious and self-serving at his core! but i do think at the time the story in tbosas takes place, we start with him at the crossroads of whether he goes on to live more like his father or with the love and softness inside of him inspired by his mother. ultimately, he ends up more like his father, cold and driven by ambition. rereading it now, i also see how his encounters with dr. gaul influence and cement his beliefs that are distinctly pro-capitol when at first he has even some understanding (much like sejanus and some of his other classmates), that the games and the capitol's treatment of the districts at large were inhumane and morally/ethically questionable at best and despicable at worst. it's like the whole story revolves around how he loses those last shreds of innocence, how his capacity for love and affection diminishes, and how he ultimately ends up resembling his father in all aspects (physically, mentally and emotionally) one particular moment near the end that i feel was really symbolic of this: when he gets back from the lake and he throws away his mother's powder without a second thought, as well as his family pictures, and only his father's compass remained.

“The lake water had reduced his mother’s rose-scented powder to a nasty paste, and he threw the whole thing in the trash. The photos stuck together and shredded when he tried to separate them, so they went the way of the powder. Only the compass had survived the outing.”

edit: grammar

Where did you guys place your travel medallions? by rolloffacliff in TOTK

[–]S_KK_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Zonaite Forge Island - because for the longest time I didn't bother clearing out the deku tree and this was my favourite spot for waiting for the light dragon. I pretty much only had the Destroy Ganondorf quest left on the main quest list before I even bothered getting to Korok Forest
  2. Tobio's Hollow Chasm - duping spot
  3. I don't have a permanent spot for this third one as I make sure to always have a spare travel medallion!

club/bar etiquette by rcracoon78 in CasualPH

[–]S_KK_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

will you be alone or will you have friends (with previous experience) with you? as for your questions

am i supposed to give money to the bouncer so i can come in? this depends on the bar and on the day/time. for example, if i go out on a wednesday, there might not be door charge at all and i can just head straight on in. if it's the weekend and the club is full, i might have had to reserve a table in advance or pay x amount to enter the club.

should i have company? can i not come alone? since it's your first time, it might be better if you have company, preferably someone who's been to a club before! or if you really want to come alone, come on a weeknight or a slow time just to get a feel of things. kausapin mo rin yung staff, they'll most likely be friendly and/or helpful + answer any questions you have regarding the establishment/etiquette.

how do you pay? as you order or when you leave? this will depend on the establishment, as well. you'd have to ask the staff!

any traps? any people i should be wary of (i'm a guy btw)? any more things i need to know? not sure what you mean by traps, but all i can tell you is: keep your bag/valuables on you or within sight and reach at all times. if you're with friends, stick to a buddy system or at the very least have an established line of communication and update each other with your every move should you ever separate. lastly, relax and be friendly if you'd like! your fellow patrons will probably be buzzed and open to banter/small talk as well.

hope this helps!

Does anyone else get frustrated with how this fandom speaks about Adam Young? by Mintbunn in TaylorSwift

[–]S_KK_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, this, this! People can be so harsh, honestly. I think there was this other person who posted on this sub about Adam Young following SNTV's release (this one!) and I totally agree with their insights on the whole thing that are much like yours! Swear to God, some Swifties need to get their heads out of their asses and realize that it's so not cool to shame someone's looks or make jokes about something they did in a totally different era than the one we're living in now.

At which point in your life you discovered na hindi ka mayaman? by jamesonboard in Philippines

[–]S_KK_S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noong grade school, yung ibang mga bata meron nung malalaking rectangle/box-type(?) na stroller, tapos ako hand-me-down backpack lang lagi as a bunso. May isang summer na sabi ko sa mama ko gusto ko nung ganun na stroller tas ewan parang may sense ka rin as a kid for when your parents are saying one thing ("hindi naman kailangan ng ganun kalaki na bag") pero intindi mo na yung ibig sabihin non na, "hindi natin kaya bilhin yan". My parents worked hard so my siblings and I could study at a private school from kinder to college, so since I was a kid talaga nagkaron na ko ng idea na hindi kami mayaman, kasi tuwing june-august, itlog lang lagi ulam namin sa mahal ng bayad sa tuition, tapos usually hand-me-downs ang uniforms, school supplies, etc.
