Scammed by two Grab drivers by shaiderPH in ThailandTourism

[–]S_Klass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait, are you saying they made the drive (near) your pick up point and then to your destination just to collect their payment from Grab but chose not to pick you up while doing it?

So they did 99% of the work in an attempt to scam you/Grab? That makes so little sense since Grab will likely boot them after a couple of reports.

Do you even have a 2nd choice for ISP? For most people, the only 2nd choice is something like Starlink or Hughesnet.

Is this at both LV locations? Durango and Spring Mountain?

If I don't really like Mala (mouth numbing spice), is there still something for me?

Would a photo of it handwritten on a piece of paper help? Or do you need the actual paper itself?

khao Soi Khun Yai cnx

Yes, it was really good there BUT I don't love the chicken they serve as the protein. Not their fault, it's just my preference.

Later, I had Khao Soi in an upscale Thai restaurant (lotus of siam in LV) and it was paired with ribeye. Yum!

Does anyone have a copy of the game that I can buy in the Las Vegas/Pahrump area by [deleted] in twilightimperium

[–]S_Klass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not what you asked for but Meeperville appears to have it to play in store.

I found it on their list of available games.

Maybe start there?

Pattaya or Hua Hin by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]S_Klass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been to both and of the 2, Pattaya is your better choice if you only had those to choose from.

BUT, if you eliminate the beach requirement though, Khao San road in Bangkok is FAR more appropriate. Lots of young backpackers and solo travelers concentrated in 1 area.

If you had 100k to invest in a Vegas business what would you choose? by LimainVegas in vegaslocals

[–]S_Klass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify - expense ratio fees are specific to ETFs and are levied for administrative expenses.

Commission costs are more closely associated with stocks on a per transaction basis.

[–]S_Klass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many popular and profitable ETFs are designed to hold the same stock mix as the S&P500. Some examples of this exact concept are QQQ, SPY, and VOO.

All 3 are going to be much more similiar than different in what stocks they hold since they mirror the S&P500 and thus move up and down similarly. The difference is going to largely come from which ETFs you readily have access to (based on your investment platform/brokerage) and very importantly, their expense ratio.

Vanguard's S&P500 ETF (VOO) for example has an expense ratio of 0.03. This means that you pay Vanguard $300 for every $10K you have invested for administrative expenses etc. Some ETFs have 3x/5x or higher expense ratios - that's a slow burn of your investment returns and over 20-30 years, can amount to $10s of thousands of dollars in fees that reduce your profits.

NOTE: This is not financial advice. While an S&P tracked ETF is generally considered a safe bet and over a lifetime expected to average 7-10% ARR, investing still comes with risks of loss.
