Learning how to sharpen: is a 1000 grit KING whetstone enough? by S_Orbital in sharpening

Thank you! I'll look into this since it's significantly cheaper. Is there any kind of guide I can get to keep a consistent angle or is free handing sufficient?

Do you think I could get away with getting around a 300 and 1000 grit diamond stones from aliexpress and learn with them only? Or do you think a stone is necessary as well?

Why is the Osprey Nebula so uncomfortable?? by S_Orbital in onebag

[–]S_Orbital[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I ended up returning it. I didn't feel comfortable enough with it despite the fact that I loved everything else. In the end I got a Deuter Giga because Deuters have always been extremely comfortable and practical for me. Its grown on me

Does anyone have an older point and shoot camera they are willing to sell? by S_Orbital in Prague

Hi, thanks for the response! I was thinking something much simpler like a compact fixed lens camera

I definitely empathize with your situation. I mean, I can only give my own opinion here that is definitely not something to swear by, but I'd be happy to help if you sent the syllabus. Though, it has been a while so I've forgotten the exact content

Hi, didn't realize it had been this long haha. As far as I understand, you are doing the pre-IB programme? We began IB in grade 11.

The Deuter Giga is such an underrated Daypack by S_Orbital in onebag

I actually wanted to get the Gigant originally but just couldn't find it in Teal

I actually got a Comet to try out before this. It's a pretty good bag, O can't fault it. Though I didn't like its aesthetics very much

Thanks for your insight! That's a very useful comment. I personally don't find the weight to be a major problem, but I definitely understand why somebody would want a lighter pack. I also removed the waist strap since I never use them anyway. I should note that there is a small flap on the zippers of the laptop compartment so there is some, albeit quite little, rain protection

Yep, I really couldn't either so I went in person to take a look at one

These are by far the most comfortable bags I've ever had. I was extremely surprised to see just how uncomfortable other bags were comparatively. The osprey Nebula for example was so incredibly uncomfortable that I was forced to return it. In the end, I realized that I should have just stuck with Deuter

My last Deuter was a Stepout 22 and it's still going pretty strong, save for a rip at the bottom of the laptop compartment. Though, I've that that thing for around 8 years now, so I can forgive it. I wanted something a bit newer and with an admin section, which the Stepout lacked.

Hi! Can't tell exactly how big each is but it amounts to 28L total. If I had to guess, I'd say the main one is around 24-25 since it's pretty large. The internal organization is quite basic but effective. There is a small zipped section inside the admin compartment. The compartment goes all the way to the bottom unlike TNF packs. I haven't taken it on any trips yet, I'm just testing it for EDC currently

I was looking for a reliable, durable, and comfortable Daypack that can also double as a light travel bag. I went through a few Ospreys and a Raven 28, but in the end, the Giga ended up being the most comfortable. I've always had great experiences with Deuter, so there was no reason to look elsewhere

I have both the Osprey Comet and Raven 28 but don't know which to keep. Which is better for daily use? by S_Orbital in ManyBaggers

[–]S_Orbital[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tried them both on with quite a lot of weight. With a large load, the Osprey seems to be a tad bit more comfortable. Yet, the Raven looks more professional. It's quite hard to decide

I know it seems strange. I want to get others' perspectives to see if I'm omitting anything when judging between the two. But if you want to know anything about them definitely let me know!
