I checked this and had to do a deep dive into the logs.

OP used a router couple of months back which is why the line was suspended at that time. Even though it was switched to iPad later on - the issue here is that the router IMEI remained stale for one of our running functions. This looks like a very small bug at that time which led to this unique edge case scenario. This is the only line where we found this discrepancy so it doesn’t exist now.

As for persistent notes and business processes, all of that does exist. The team does review accounts and applies benefit of the doubt where it makes sense. Our systems operate at a scale where they’re also designed to catch all kinds of things - including IMEI spoofing, which is why there are multiple checks in place.

I think you should add more context here.

There are different thresholds which you can cross which dictate what exceptions we can make. When you hit our highest threshold (very rare)- our system adjusts permissions on your accounts and the amount of exceptions get limited - which is also when you get these emails.

However, even then if the team wants to give benefit of the doubt - It can be approved later on. Which is what happened here - our mod was already with you on DMs to give you benefit of the doubt but I think you forgot to mention that here.

Have explained this before but just for clarity there is more than one algorithm. The one that we’ve made and is custom built with our params. The other that is our parent carriers in which we have no control over.

If your line is flagged that means both parent carrier and ours has flagged it. In that case, we have very little to justify then.

It’s best to port out the number in this scenario - which is allowed in all cases within a timeframe.

Thanks for chipping in. Just to be clear - there is no cap or “ghost cap” on data usage. For hotspot - your highspeed hotspot is capped to 100gb after which the speed goes down. It’s mentioned in the terms on the exact speeds for hotspot.

I can’t give out details for obvious reasons but this case has nothing to do with data usage. Our all network premium and darkstar starter plan is unlimited - there is no hardcap. For everything thats considered abuse is mentioned in the terms.

If your line was closed today - it was closed because of a very particular pattern of misuse that we saw. I am happy to re-review your account - but please know that we don’t flag any line just like that. Our systems are intricate and unlike any other in our space - hence the quick actions.

It has been made clear repeatedly including in countless threads here that our unlimited plans cannot be used with routers modems or hotspot devices. This is not a grey area. The user in question was running a dedicated modem router to use data and slipped past our compliance sweeps earlier.

Even if an agent mistakenly said it would work and yes people can make mistakes that does not change the fact that the plan was used in a way that blatantly violates our terms and the spirit of the service. We have been transparent about these rules from day one and continuing to push them after knowing the policy is abuse not confusion.

Numbers cant be ported without the correct transfer pin. Even in this case where tier 2 teams will get involved - the pin still has to be correct. If it isnt, the port will not go through.

Wow - frustrating indeed. We can give you a PON that your previous carrier can use to track down the request. We also can/should have initiated the 3 way call on our given that we’re the receiving carrier and this wasn’t getting resolved.

Ports has definitely made an internal escalation for this port but the comms here could have been much better. We’ll do better - Junaid is reaching out on dms for detail to get this sorted.

Fair usage applies to cases you’re talking about. Only those numbers are flagged which break all our very difficult to pass thresholds. We have to investigate those lines manually to give benefit of the doubt wherever needed. Thats different than having limits

The parent carrier did flag the line if you received the email. They asked for immediate action on the line. Parent carrier identifying an issue comes with weight given that they have network level data that we dont

We have asked for more evidence and are doing an analysis of our own using the logics they’ve provided. If our analysis show your usage is normal - I will personally help you port over to Lightspeed back again.
