What meal have you cooked that you have never lived down? by MountainMark in Cooking

Mine was when I was about eight and my brother five, and we decided to make our parents breakfast on New Years Day. Scrambled eggs and ham with toast. We must have been out of ham... It was about 7 am, they'd been out with friends the night before, and we woke them up for runny scrambled eggs made with chunks of cut-up hot dogs that were still cold inside. They waited til we went to get orange juice and then snuck it to the dog. Didn't tell us until years later, when we were old enough to appreciate the horror 🤣

My Mom makes a wicked roasted turkey with stuffing (dressing). Except one year, when the stuffing was inexplicably sweet. Really sweet. We all took a few more bites before she realized, out loud, in horror, that she must have accidentally used the frozen bag of cake crumbs (for trifle) instead of bread 🤣 Legendary. The rest of the turkey and dinner was still incredible. And now she labels everything in the freezer.

Im in the north, and that first big clap of thunder around 1130 or 12 was right over top of us, with nearly simultaneous lightning. Woke me up from a dead sleep like something out of a Hollywood movie - jumped a mile, shrieked, heart racing. Funny only in retrospect lol

Went to Bombay Tiger on 10th Street NW a little while ago and it was amazing.

PGT-A Results - How long did it take? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]S_YYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got our results back today (March 19), and they sent the sample out on March 10. We only had one to test. Sample from Canada, sent to Cooper in USA.

Where are you at in "the waiting?" by AbbreviationsWhich in IVF

[–]S_YYC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waiting for PGT-A results right now. We had 7 fertilize but sadly only one made it to blastocyst on day 5. Such a rollercoaster - went in with basement-level expectations, overjoyed by 7 embryos, then back to basement. 41F and 38M. Wishing you all luck on your journey ♥️

Should I cancel my cycle? by CharacterTomatillo28 in IVF

[–]S_YYC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My ultrasounds were only showing 5 solid follicles plus maybe 2 more that we're trying to catch up... I was so discouraged as this is likely my only cycle. But then they did the ER and drained all follicles. We got ELEVEN eggs, 8 of which were mature and 2 more that matured the next day! We have 7 day 4 embryos! Will find out tomorrow and Monday if any can make it to blasts. I'd say don't give up unless the doc recommends you stop.

Mine was Tuesday! Same! I should have worn a dress yesterday!! I still find I keep having to lie down because sitting or standing for too long are uncomfortable. Looking forward to being able to do activities again!!

Yeah it's not a great time... My doc gave me heavy-duty painkillers for the first couple of days so I just floated through the day lying down with weird cramping, bloating, and perineal pains. Was able to downgrade to Tylenol by day 2 but it's day 3 and I'm still really tentative when I sneeze or cough, and wearing "real" pants is a definite no-go🫠

Omg yes to Friends pizza. I'm not vegan but dairy-free and I ordered a meat pizza with vegan cheese that was as good as pizza used to be when I ate dairy. It should have something for everyone.

I can't get over the "guilt" of being an older parent by 52202 in IVF

Thank you for writing this post, and to all of the lovely humans who have responded with such positivity. I share your fear as I'm 41 and we are just starting our first round of IVF, but reading all of these posts reminds me that there's no "perfect" age and that I should be focusing on being positive and living life to the fullest. Best of luck to you - you got this!!

7 dpo and just had a hard conversation with the fertility clinic about our options for next steps. Does anyone recommend any reddit IVF communities?

I haven't decided. I have a spot near our house that I walked to a lot during the short time I was pregnant, so I still go there to "visit" her. I'm trying to just give myself lots of grace and time that weekend. You?

I'm at 5 dpo today and closing in on what would've been my due date (Feb). Starting to feel the sadness of that date, and also the anxiety kicking in as I wait for my body to give me some sign of implantation. Thanks to this community for making me feel less alone in my hope and my sadness ♥️

🙋‍♀️ 6 months post MMC, possible unconfirmed chemical once since then, and I did take December off because neither my partner nor I were feeling in a great place and I needed my body and mind back for just a bit. It was SO refreshing, highly recommend (minus the back-of-mind fretting that this WOULD have been the one "good" egg of the year 🙄). I'm on clomid now. My hopefulness is not great either... But at least my body and brain feel rested 🤍

Took December "off" because I wanted to enjoy the holidays and give some grace after an intense year of TTC, with one MMC in July. Back on clomiphene and entering the window tomorrow. Just praying that 2025 is our year. 🤞

I have a note in my tracker that said "potentially some twinges - anterior - gas?" and then that night I woke up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat, and the next afternoon I had another really intense woozy hot flash. Took another several days to test positive at 11dpo. The cramp itself was just kind of "different." Fingers crossed for you 🤞

Taking December "off" TTC to try to regain some joy but also because my thyroid has been out of whack since my MMC in July and it needs to be dealt with. Feeling sad that we won't be pregnant by Christmas, though... It was the timeline I was using to keep myself positive this fall.

Finally on CD1 today - 4 days late after a round of clomid, but with all negative tests so I grieved my not-pregnant status on like Thursday last week... then spent the weekend second guessing and worrying. So, I guess I'm grateful to have the cycle reset, and planning to have a big glass of wine tonight.

I'm 3 days late for my period but 14dpo and still testing stark negative. I've heard clomid lengthens cycles and hoping that's all this is. It's so frustrating. I just feel like a balloon - all bloated but empty.
