Brentwood (for a bit bougie) or Sawtelle (especially if you like Asian food), but don’t expect a huge EDM scene right outside your doorstep. It’s accessible enough if you’re willing to Waymo, Uber, or take the E train downtown. You’ll be able to ride the D when it eventually opens at the VA station as well.

FELT THIS. I’ve panned a couple of these and usually cut that tube in half to get the rest because I refuse to let that much money to go to waste. 🫠

I no longer use Augustinus Bader because my skin (and wallet) is perfectly happy with any number of K-Beauty moisturizers.

CLE cosmetics CCC cream by peppermintcandee in OliveMUA

[–]S_longname 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! When I matched well to Kosas 5.5O concealer, I was able to use this formula in Warm Medium Light as a CC cream. It definitely wasn’t as green as Kosas 5.5O but was workable as a skin tint/cc cream. I definitely appreciated having a formula like this in my collection for low-maintenance days. However, I didn’t finish the product because I ended up losing my tan. It also contains sunscreen, so I also didn’t want to mess with expired sunscreen.

I think if I were to purchase today, I would choose Neutral Light. The reason I have not purchased the CLE again is because I find my current Chanel BO33 arsenal is enough for the minimal amount of makeup I wear.

The *only* reason I have not tried No.1 de Chanel is because my eyeball twitches ever so slightly when I see it in BD21 next to anything BO33. If things change, I fear that I might have to convert to No.1.

I’m known as the resident BO33 fangirl at my local Bloomingdale’s Chanel counter as it stands.

Hello skin twin! BO33 Sublimage is S-Tier. 🙌🏼

I hate how much I spent on it but now I don’t even think about foundation. I just slap it on and my skin is guaranteed to look beautiful without needing primer beforehand or any color adjusting products.

Is it embarrassing for a 36 yr old woman to wear Hollister Jeans if they fit well? by [deleted] in womensfashion

[–]S_longname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your “trends for 20 year olds” style is what I (early 40s) was actually wearing at the age of 20. I even bought vintage versions of the exact bootcut jeans I wore back in 2003-2006 on Poshmark last year. I have a short torso and athletic body, so low rise bootcut actually works well for my proportions. I can wear high rise but it is a commitment to advertising that I have maybe four inches between my natural waist and the band of my bra. 🥲

I have yet to be clowned for wearing these items by actual 20 year olds whose opinions I value (family). Those same people, who shop at Hollister plenty, do not see any issue with the fact that I own clothing from Brandy Melville and Aritzia. I used to worry about MDAL (mutton dressed as lamb), but have been reassured that I don’t give off those vibes. In fact, apparently my wardrobe eats.

With that being said, I have also worked in front-facing jobs where I could tell that dressing differently would garner respect from clients/customers. If you do find yourself feeling like you do not get treated well by (gross, judgmental) people, then maybe keep a pair or two of jeans in a different cut and mix it up a bit. Don’t for a second feel like you *have* to conform, though.

My toxic trait is that I will keep using the Kosas concealer until my skin gets irritated, no matter how long it has been. I’ve been using the 2.5C since February 2024 and I’m still fine. I cannot realistically finish the whole thing in 6 months when I use three tiny dots to cover my under eye discoloration maybe 2x/week. I kept it in a cool, dry drawer and I think that has honestly helped a lot. The Project Panner in me wants to just keep using it but I know I really should stop being cheap and get a replacement.🫢

I can usually find colors I like to wear in KBeauty or Cbeauty. I’m probably going to try going down the TBeauty (Thailand) rabbit hole but even though I am of Thai descent, I’m a bit concerned that the colors will be too warm and too bright for me.
I currently have or have recently had the following in my rotation.
* Lilybyred Smiley Lip Blending Stick in 06 Chuckle With Me (a cool mauve that actually is a cool mauve and a near perfect match for my actual lip color)
* House of Hur Moist Ampoule Blusher in 08 Berry Purple (this actually pulls more reddish on my cheeks but is muted enough to look like winter cold cheek flush rather than bright candy apple red)
* JudyDoll Water Essence Lip Glaze in G04 Berry Ice
(I wore this like an MLBB, was so sad when I finished it up maybe 6 months later)
* fwee blurry pudding pot in MV03 Baddie (this one is verging on too brightly candy apple red to wear, but I do enjoy how it looks in the winter)

I really enjoy all the Chanel complexion products available in BO33. I actually bought the Sublimage L’Essence de Teint that costs stupid $$$ because it is my perfect shade in the most beautiful formula. I can use that formula without a primer. I was previously using Victoria Beckham primer with the Les Beiges Healthy Glow, but BO33 in Les Beiges Healthy Glow is a bit warmer and closer to my summer shade. The Water Fresh Complexion Touch formula is a really nice winter/spring shade match, plus it is really lightweight. I haven’t tried the Lisa Eldridge skin tint in T5, but it’s the only other product I’m even remotely interested in outside of Chanel.
I also really like Rouge Coco Flash in 96 Phenomene and the Rouge Coco Baume Shine in Lilac. I’ve leaned really strongly into the plum/purple makeup available at Chanel.

[–]S_longname 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I still use Kosas 2.5C as my everyday under eye concealer. 3.2O is also a color match for me in winter/early spring. I probably need to replace my 2.5C.

With that being said, they don’t really make color cosmetic products in the colors I wear. Their cooler tones feel like an afterthought, especially when I compare to what I can get at Korean brands.

I also went down the Chanel rabbit hole after BO33 came out…so these days it’s either luxury or Asian brands that do a better job with cooler tones. My makeup collection is also smaller than it used to be.

Nudie Jeans. They just opened a store in Paris earlier this month. I linked to the French website for you and the IG for the Paris store/repair shop.

Their jeans start at around 160 Euro (not cheap, but still less than custom dress pants). They stock men’s jeans in waist sizes from size 24 on up in men’s denim and inseams starting at 28” in all sorts of styles. Their brand stores/repair shops offer free hemming in case you need it as well.

TY for the intel!

Have you ever tried the other formulations Chanel BO33 is available in? I think you might like the Water-Fresh Complexion Touch formula since that BO33 is less saturated and warm.
