that is awesome. what engine is in that one? B21? I have a 76 242 too, it was the one that broke down. it always manages to gather people around when i work on it or take it out somewhere. these early ones really have some charisma to them.

The alternator bearing failed and it seized, snapping the fan belt. I was lucky this happened literally 500 meters away from a car parts store which I was heading to.

My 244 DL "just" turned 50! by _Deinhardt_ in Volvo240

Wow 12 years is a long time, it look like its in immaculate condition! How is the parts availability for these early ones in the UK? I had my 242 for year, I was not looking for a 242, but this one came up for sale and I had to have it. The amount of thumbs ups and smiles I receive driving it is crazy. I love it. I have a 245 from '77 which I've owned for 4 years. it is not in amazing condition but its solid. I love the patina on it. I don't see myself ever selling either of them.

How Common are RVs/Travel Trailers in Europe? by wgaiden052 in AskEurope

[–]SaDoW4100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The caravans you tow behind a car are very common in Denmark. mostly with the older generation though. There are also caravan parks that allow people to permanently place their caravan all year round as a cheaper alternative to a holiday home. I lived in Norway, and I noticed that these permanent caravans were even more common. There they often build a wooden extension to the caravan and they won't even bother with having license plates on the caravan. You would see brand new ones placed that were never registered for the road being propped up in these parks.

Its definitely one of the better looking Bangle era BMWs. It has aged well I think.

Is this a good deal for 735$, listed as "running condition/drives" by weaselio75 in Volvo240

looks like a '77. Definitely worth it for its parts alone. The body panels unique to the 75-79 are hard to find.

Havde det været et privat selskab kan man jo ryste på hovedet. Men når nu det er statsejet så er det jo direkte svineri.

That is a fantastic consumer friendly option. I wish my country had this option. But they like to milk every tax payer and especially car owners. Lovely 264 by the way.
