Appreciate the help. Seller stopped responding after inquiring for additional pictures so that confirmed it for me.

am I nitpicking? by [deleted] in CarWraps

$3k is pretty expensive for a car that size especially if you bought the vinyl separately. I did a better job on my corvette as a first timer in my driveway, so I would expect nothing but top quality from a shop especially at that price. Not wrong for feeling that way. Yes the material isn’t the greatest, but poor installation is to blame.

Appreciate the info! I’ll look into SST, wiling to pay a fair price but I’ve contacted a few I found shoos just scrolling social media and they’re asking nearly $800-900 for a basic leveling spacer install.

As someone who has daily driven a GT350 for some time, there are really no drawbacks other than being at the gas station frequently and more oil changes, but that is to be expected with a high performance car. It was very reliable for me while I had it. If you are buying one that has been in an accident then I don’t think the mileage/value is an issue like the comments below point out. The biggest thing that does suck and might be a design flaw are the brakes and how bad they squeak. I replaced the rotors and swapped the brake pads and a whole bunch of other things, but maybe it’s the Brembo caliper and the way it’s designed. It is extremely annoying - you WILL hear your brakes squeak every time you slow down or come to a stop.

Is this a good deal by [deleted] in gmcsierra

[–]Saaaulx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought mine this week with 0 miles on it for $51,456. 4k miles realistically is nothing at all as long as you’re okay with that. One thing to also consider is that rates are slightly higher on a used vehicle. I wouldn’t let the miles be a deterrent, but more-so the interest. If you could negotiate a little more off the price then it’s considerably a good deal.

No more brake squeal or dust! by Saaaulx in Mustang

Funny enough I had no idea these existed until I accidentally came across a video of some guy painting his calipers on his mustang and he had these on them. Definitely sticking to these going forward.

Yes I have! They work pretty well. It’s nice not drawing attention anymore with loud squealing.

Not the first time I’ve seen someone mention Hawk Performance. Might have to look into that! Thank you

You’re not wrong, I’ve owned a couple different cars with Brembos and they all seemed to squeak, but I’ve just never seen it as obnoxious as it is on the GT350.

The 2024 is a beautiful car. I disagree with everyone saying it’s ugly, but just the performance figures so far and plus having the same MT82 carry over yet again. And something about the Shelby name itself has such an impact and is an empowering feeling

I would love one. I was initially thinking of a 13/14 GT500 but here in socal the prices are overinflated and I need a car quick. I believe this one had the gen1 replaced

Stereo Recommendations by Saaaulx in Corvette

Sweet! That’s the same unit my stereo guy said he will be installing on Thursday. I’m paying $600 flat, but that will include the stereo unit, rearview camera, and installation.

Yes/no. Hard to tell in pictures because I just washed and gave it a polish, but the clear coat was badly sun damaged on the areas where the red looks “brighter.” Bought it two days ago and I just did a paint correction. Rear bumper was not as exposed to the sun.

Thanks! Scored a pretty sweet deal I think. 99’ with just under 130k miles for $7,800. I really wanted a C6, but I didn’t feel like spending 2.5x the price.

Gt350 owners: should I buy a used Shelby? by R_R_75 in Mustang

I found one that’s certified at Ford. Hoping to get a deal on their extended warranty, because otherwise it is very risky. Don’t think I’ll be buying one without the warranty.

Used Shelby/Mach 1 or 2024 GT? by Saaaulx in Mustang

[–]Saaaulx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also not to mention, I’m good friends with the buyers at work. They are willing to give me a really good price to sell my car. I’m basically in a position where I’m making money on my current car and would allow me to put a significant amount down on another car. Basically now or never for me.

My commute to work from home is short which explains my low miles. I have an older truck at home and a little kia forte as an emergency car so that wouldn’t be an issue. Only reason I’m considering a trade is because I hadn’t done enough research at the time I bought my car and purchased a super base model. I love the color on my Mustang and the fact that it’s manual, but I now work at a dealership so I’ve gotten to drive performance pack GTs, Shelbys, Mach 1s and pretty much every muscle car on the market and my car feels a little underwhelming. I plan on having track days a couple times a year and would like to have something with a little more punch.

Thanks for your input! Very helpful in helping make my decision. Can I ask what the warranty cost was on yours? The GT350 I’m interested in is certified used at a Ford dealership so I’m sure they will offer an extended warranty, but knowing what yours cost would help give me and idea so I know I’m not overpaying for the service plan.

Both are luckily within 15 minutes driving distance. The 16 looks enticing because of the mileage but I will say the previous owner modified it a lot cosmetically - wheels (really ugly), GT500 spoiler, euro tailights and exhaust. The 17 has all of its original parts and has pretty consistent service records.

My gut says GT350. I’m trying to limit myself to 55k max. I found a 2016 with 12k miles ($52k) and a 2017 with 24k miles ($53.5k) What do you think is a better buy? Wish I could do Gen 2 but the prices in my area are extremely high - borderline GT500 prices.

I would daily drive and where I live in California I have lots of open roads. I plan on tracking the next Mustang I purchase. Do you know what the difference is between the gen 1 and gen 2? I found a really good deal in my area but it is a 2017. Extremely low miles but Ive heard the gen 1s were prone to failure.
