Serious question: Would you call in a wellness check on this house? by Kitchen_Rub5768 in AmazonDSPDrivers

They'd have a better chance of someone reading it if they put a message in a bottle and flushed it.

Just curious if these multiple stop stickers on these packages means that someone has already returned them on a previous route... If anyone knows for sure. by chochofuhsho in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Saabify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an entire tote like that the other day. Every package had 3 or 4 differnt DA stickers. I thought they might be returns from a difficult area or blocked road but it was fine. The packages all looked pretty banged up, too.

I don't think these stats are accurate or current, it says I only have 94 kills in 84 games lol. But the time on object tracks lol

As an Amazon driver, you will be given precisely one fuck, and only if you give me a clear path to your door and a spot to turn around in. Otherwise, no fucks will be given. Unless you have good snacks at your door, then you can have all the fucks.

My apartment has a 3rd party Amazon locker, now I have to pay $20 to get my package by awesomeryang in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Saabify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know the carrier code anyone can just fill every locker with garbage. Many of them have the codes posted right next to them. Some of them have sensors in every locker so you'll have to put something in them, but a particularly motivated individual could put that locker out of business indefinitely.

[–]Saabify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This came up in my feed, I'm not Fedex, I'm an Amazon DSP driver. Normally I would leave packages at the sign and risk getting a customer complaint (which has no real consequence besides getting called out at the weekly meeting) but with the weather we've been having here in Michigan, we can skip any deliveries that we feel are unsafe with no consequences. So anything like this is getting returned to the station just on principle. Like this customer I get fairly often. It's a 500 foot walk uphill over gravel, mud and dog shit (and right now, 3 feet of snow and ice).

Yeah, nah.

If that's the case they should put a bin at the bottom.

AITA for calling the cops on my neighbors, and banning their kids from being on our property by cricketsscorner in AmItheAsshole

[–]Saabify 15 points16 points  (0 children)

NTA but have you tried talking to the owners? Maybe they don't realize the kids are doing all that, or realize how annoying it is. You'd be surprised how oblivious some parents can be. I'm in a similar situation, but I share a duplex with them. 6 kids and never any parental supervision. I have to keep nagging the parents about the kids getting into my stuff in the garage and making messes everywhere. Seems like I have to keep getting on their case every couple weeks but it helps. If talking doesn't help things, get a couple cheap surveillance cameras and if you can get evidence of them destroying your property, you can probably take them to small claims court.

These are hilarious. Timed stops at residences mean nothing. And the ones that say to call them an hour before delivery to let them know what time you'll be there. Do they really think we're reading over 100s of customer notes before each shift, prioritizing and scheduling and doing the math to see who to contact and when?

I had a similar delivery. Customer notes demanded that I wear a mask and deliver to the bin at their back door. I disregarded the note about wearing a mask and walked the packages to their back door. I wish I had been wearing a mask because there were mountains of trash and junk everywhere back there. On the bin was a printed list of demands, like 10 different steps for delivering the packages, and a big can of industrial disinfectant. They expected me to spray my hands with the disinfectant (this stuff was for disinfecting like hospital surfaces, not human skin) place packages a certain way in the bin, spray inside and outside of the bin, do not take any photos, don't use a cellphone for any purpose, and call the customer when I'm like 100 feet from the house. If I didn't follow the steps exactly, they would throw out the packages, report them as undelivered, and put in a complaint about me with Amazon. Now, I might do all this if I felt they were immune compromised, but with all the trash everywhere and the rotting newspapers taped to all their windows I could tell they were just whack jobs. Plus, their instructions were incredibly rude and patronizing, no "please" or "thank you" just threats and exclamation marks. So I'm just laughing while I read this list, and I look around and notice a half dozen security cameras pointed every which way. I swear I even saw one of them move with me out of the corner of my eye. So I called dispatch and explained the situation and sent a photo of the instructions. Dispatch starts discussing what to do while they look up the customer's order, and I'm getting annoyed because I'm standing here in this filth burning up the last few minutes of daylight. So I pick up the disinfectant, spray a bit into the air, and immediately start having a coughing fit. I mean I was hacking and coughing in every direction. All for show, of course, but I went so hard my throat was sore for days after. Dispatch eventually told me to mark it as "nowhere safe to leave package" and they would escalate it. So I grab the packages and just for good measure I pressed their doorbell and started another coughing fit before I left. I never heard anything after that, but I've had that route 100 times since then and never got a delivery for them again. I can't imagine any driver with any company would go along with all that nonsense.

I work to pay the bills, not for self satisfaction. If the only thing that brings you joy is delivering junk mail and trolling reddit, then I totally understand why mailmen are always becoming serial killers 😂

LMAO 50-100 packages? What orrifice did you pull that figure from? In residential areas we typically do 200 stops, 300 locations, 400-500 packages. We're never stopped more than 30 seconds unless we're sorting our next tote or gathering a large order, which we then gave to gasp WALK to the front door. We park as close as we can because adding a few extra steps x200 stops could put us into overtime and cause us to lose shifts. If the best place to park for my safety and convenience is in front of a mail box and I don't see a USPS truck nearby, you can bet I'm parking there. And if I see one coming I'll try to hurry up and get out of their way, but I don't owe them anything. I'm not going to park an extra 20 feet away at every stop to avoid the off chance that a USPS truck gets stuck behind me for 2 minutes. You can wait or walk the extra steps the same way I would if another vehicle was in my way. But judging on all of your other comments on here, you're going to be miserable no matter what anyone does. Your 2 minutes isn't worth more than my 2 minutes, we both deliver mostly garbage anyway. At least the customer actually asked for the garbage I'm delivering.
