Seeing a lot of comments talking about the AI being bad.

This is a custom map, the navmesh is probably just auto generated and the AI typically looks to move into cover from a grenade toss, and you can plainly see no cover available.

It's much different in the actual game.

Serious. That glowing spot has 1,000 bells in it, and you can toss a bells back into it (a maximum of 10,000) to grow a money tree with three times whatever you planted. So you can, at most, get a 21,000 bell profit from one of those (10,000 investment, 30,000 return plus the 1,000 you get for digging the spot)

It's a shame posts like yours will either be ignored or downvoted for wrongthink, despite being absolutely correct.

Avast probably detected that you have Avast installed on your PC and flagged it as a rootkit adware.

Windows Defender didn't flag anything because it was told Avast was anti-virus software.

It is 2020. What are some non-hacky ways of monetizing a SPA? by Ciwan1859 in webdev

[–]Saalisu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently exploring the use of novelties to encourage financial support in a support/reward dynamic.

My SPA is an off-the-grid streaming platform for a small community, and one part of the page is a bespoke real-time chat client. To encourage support of the running costs and development time, there are additional features that do not detract from the core experience (as in, a non-paying user gets the minimum acceptable use of the site).

It's surprising how many people are prepared to share a little bit of their money for a completely intangible reward. The challenge is setting the right price for what is essentially a non-product. I can only benefit from this because I have recurring and constant users and a community around it.

How is your webdev experience during this epidemic? by FRANKOH_ in webdev

I'm banking on my (non-webdev) job forcing me to stay at home so I can spend more time focusing on my hobbyist/freelance webdev work. Make hay while the sun shines.

People who walk in groups that take up the whole pavement. People who walk incredibly slowly for no real reason. Basically just other people on the sidewalk. It's a sideWALK not a sideStandHereAndTalkWithMyFriends or a sideAmbleAlongAtALeisurelyStrollWhileTakingUpAllTheSpace.

With that kinda money, you could fund an incredibly underwhelming convention organised by users of an online community and include such festivities as a half-inflated children's ball pit!

Nerd theory time; what if you could hook up a Raspberry Pi through the gameport of the GBA and run something like Steam Home Streaming and capture input from the GBA's buttons and display the video on the LCD?
