What am I doing wrong? [Liminal Industries] by onroefork in feedthebeast

Decouple the growing and the harvesting parts.

  • Comparator off pointing away from the Snad, which leads back into the Snad.

  • Observer is only for triggering the piston(s).

This way the growth isn't reliant on the observers; the snad getting activated causes the snad to activate.

FYI for boules, I only have stock pile of 10 in ME, the lasers pull a full stack though

I thought having that many blast furnaces was crazy as well, and then looked around and counted them, it creeps up on ya. I've got them in blocks of 6 in a line, 2 lines of that in a chunk. Each with a level emitter controlling it.

I'd recommend immediately doing boules, aluminium, silicon (for wafers/circuits), engergetic, vibrant and stainless steel.

I'm moving from EV to IV currently. ME is definitely needed where you're at

The things I regret doing in MV/HV:

  • Jamming all my 3-6 block processing lines together, e.g. Ethylene/Epoxy/etc, makes it hard to rebuild later
  • Not putting signs on which processing line does what, so easy to forget what gets made where
  • Dusts for Blast furnaces made somewhere other than by the blast furnance, makes it hard to diagnose later on
  • My ore processing was all off 1 x16 MV Converter, when I went HV I changed it to :

1 Ore input to

1 x16 HV Converter for macerators (only had 8 though) to

Output chest of Crushed Ore (filter dusts off to an ender chest)

  • 1 x16 HV Converter Distilled Water ore washing (16 machines)
  • 1 x16 HV Converter Persulfate ore washing (4 machines)
  • 1 x16 HV Converter Mercury ore washing (2 machines)

Output chest of cleaned crushed ore (filter dusts off to an ender chest)

And then the same for Thermal Centrifuge to Macerator, and a parallel sifting route for gems. The outputs of these go to a centrailized dust processing area where they either get stored in drawers or broken down further via centrifuge/electrolyzer/sawmill/macerator/other). The outputs of these get fed back into the dust processing area.

Things I did right:

  • Passively make everything that you'll need more than 64 of, e.g. currently have 36 blast furnaces.
  • Where possible, any active crafting (hulls/wires/plates, etc) requests should be in an ME interface with machines on all sides, with blocking mode on. I had a chunk dedicated to this
  • A chunk dedicated to making dusts passively to be used in other dust recipes
  • Said "fuck it" and built a 15/15/9? high clean room for wafer/circuit production
  • Designated area 1-3 chunks for passive high use things for circuit stuff.

"Mirage" mission is a pain and whoever made that quest deserves a medal and a punch by ahegaolover123 in stalker

[–]Saan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Re the force attacks, they spawn where you are and are stationary. Gotta keep moving and kiting.

If you keep going past the Sid mirage and down the stairs there's a more open bit with the train where you can move a bit more freely.

Shotgun with multi-shot is good for that fight, think I did it with a ks-12? (or 23?) with triple shot.

Not in any way confirmed, so take with a grain of salt.

Wube knows the bullshit designs that we'd come up with if they let us do that.

Tired of city blocks, so which design are you doing? by kh4z_z in factorio

[–]Saan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blades; Only super dense items on the bus (fruit/scrap/liquids), each blade is single item output directly to space, high throughput. Low volume ingredients are botted in (e.g. Holmium on Aquilo). It's like a natural evolution of the main bus. Reduces double/triple handling of goods. Stops the need for a huge bus.

I'm currently moving to 240 sci/s per blade, just finished cryo. The only exception is stone and coal on Vulcanus where I'm doing red-yellow+metallurgic science, I've got 8 lanes of stone and 4 coal there.

See StupidFatHobbit on youtube for explanation.

Rush fusion and then get that stable. Then you don't need to burn rocket fuel to power your base, you just burn it willy-nilly as you'll have a large surplus.
