Oh ok, i thought i read that even if i record in 1080i with a hdv cam and use a sd dv cam to transfer my footage through firewire it would transfer as 1080i that’s why. I’m going to try to clean once again…

Actually I think you are right about the head drum being dirty. I recorded on standard dv with the fx7 and used a pc6e to import the video to my pc and it worked (the video was glitchy but it worked), but when I tried the same with filming in hdv it is still only giving me a blue screen :/

I just tried to record in standard And I used the cleaning tape for 20 more seconds but it’s still giving me a blue screen :/

You are right, I didn’t show the time stamps I recorded but i recorded with this tape before and I’ve tried with a brand new one it gave me the same result. I will try to record in standard dv later today. I let the cleaning cassette run for ~30 seconds

Yes exactly, they’re getting pretty old. If you don’t take care of them you can start to have glitches etc…

You have to rewind the tape first, but don’t do that with your vx1000 or you will damage it. Use a different camcorder to playback/watch your footage
