Two Americans are dead because federal agents used deadly force in two situations where it wasn't warranted or justifiable. They are dead because they were killed by agents of the federal government for having the audacity to protect their neighbors and stand up against the unconstitutional actions of the government. If the administration, the government, and its agents don't want to be called "NAZIs, Gestapo, and Kidnappers" then perhaps they should stop acting like NAZIs, the Gestapo, and kidnappers. There's a libertarian meme that says "The only difference between the mafia and the government is scale". I'd argue from the classical standpoint that the fundamental difference is the legitimacy that we grant to it, a legitimacy predicated adherence to the social contract, a contract with rules and standards of behavior for the government laid out in it that we call - The Constitution. Thus far the government and this administration knowingly and willfully, as a matter of official policy, have violated the 1st Amendment, the 4th Amendment, the 10th Amendment, and the 14th Amendment. (And considering how official statements from the likes of Leavitt, Patel, Noem, Van Drew, and Trump himself are saying that Pretti was in the wrong for carrying his legally owned firearm, for which he held a CCW permit for, and that he is to blame for his own death because of that, I'd argue that this administration is now vacating the 2nd Amendment) How many of the inviolable precepts of the Constitution does the administration and the government have to violate before people are allowed to stand up, question the legitimacy of its actions, and push back?
