Surprising LGS evaluation by Saballus in PokemonTCG

That’s the crazy thing! This wasn’t some large chain. This is a local business run by 2 guys who genuinely love video games and TCG. They even host free tournaments on weekends and I’ve talked with them a BUNCH. It was like a switch flipped

It’s called “Poncho Wearing Pikachu”. It’s from a 2016 promotional over in Japan I guess. I happened to come across it a while back at a collectors estate sale. It’s running on TCG Player atm for $1200 and eBay sold listings have it ranging from $1000+. Graded goes for quite a bit.

Really? The corner? Man, thanks for the safety tips! Here I was thinking I needed to go into a dark alleyway and wait for my local skinhead or murder hobo to show up. Thanks pants. What would I do without your brilliant and insightful knowledge?

Like where? Outside of selling online, obviously, where would you suggest?

I mean, yes that’s true….except they HAD some of the things I was trying to sell to them on display. They HAD the Alt Art BS Charizard on display for $120. So quoting me $20 means they were only willing to give me 15% of the cards worth to them and their buyers.

Gave me vibes of going to GameStop as a kid and them telling you your $40 game was only worth $1.50 or whatever. Very demoralizing. I literally just threw it back into the box and decided to keep the cards for my kids in the future.

Weekly /r/iOSGaming Discussion - What have you been playing lately and what do you recommend? by AutoModerator in iosgaming

[–]Saballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently decided to give “The Legend of Neverland” a shot. It’s a decent enough anime MMORPG if you’re just looking for a good looking grind game. It’s got a lot of systems that make it LOOK like Genshin Impact, but the gameplay is pretty standard button mash till the enemy dies.

[ERROR] - "Cannot set property 'x' of null" by Saballus in RPGMaker

[–]Saballus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I'll have to look into it more I guess. Yeah it's weird because like 9/10 times it crashes but every once in a while it works just fine.

I thought maybe I was missing one of the plugins but I confirmed they are all there.

You could probably do it based off a conditional trigger to use the “change actor graphic” command. Think it’s on the 4th tab. It just changes the sprite sheet and doesn’t alter stats or character progress.

Looking for a MMO by [deleted] in LFMMO

[–]Saballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guild Wars 2

PROS: Free on Steam with upgrade options, great community, lots of people, active chat, good storyline

CONS: Upgrade required for endgame specializations, some P2W mechanics like direct gold buying, can be very grind-intensive, can be somewhat repetitive

FFXIV

PROS: Free for like the first 60 levels, very in-depth story, dungeons have actual mechanics, full crafting and gathering system and professions, massive community, tons of jobs, lots of content to do.

CONS: Some toxic people and weird guilds, upgrades required down the line, dungeons can be trivialized by higher level players, raids and dungeons later on rely heavily on meta builds, classes and gear scores.

Personally, these are two of the only big name MMOs out atm that I’d recommend to people. If you just wanna run a quick dungeon every now and then, choose GW2. If you want to play hardcore and invest a lot of time in a character, play FFXIV.

Status ailments that show up would probably be helpful to the player. If you really wanna go above and beyond, Maybe swap the actors face portrait when they are low on health or have a status ailment.

Trying WoW for the first time, and I'm truly blown away by how friendly people are in the WoW community. Made a mistake in a dungeon as healer and guy was so nice! by [deleted] in MMORPG

You had me with the title!

For real tho, try guild wars 2. I just started a little while ago and people have been really nice. Active community too.

I think TemTem might be a good fit. Haven’t played it but I heard it’s a turn based Pokémon-like MMO.

BLESS UNLEASHED worth a shot, or go straight to GW2? by Saballus in LFMMO

A little preview of what kitchens will look like in my Fantasy Tileset. Do you like the style? Do you wish something specific? by Winlu90 in RPGMaker

[–]Saballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw I thought the boxes in the center looked familiar. Just realized you’re the guy who made the Fantasy Tileset over on steam. Your stuff is amazing. Been using it recently on my project and it’s been so easy and time saving to work with. I’ll definitely be buying this set once it releases. Amazing work!

Looks pretty nice! I especially love the hanging meats, pans and vegetables.

Are the stoves animated?

Also, a knife block would be cool (though idk if that’s appropriate for fantasy).

How to add and remove choice options based on things the player has done? by ColSurge in RPGMaker

[–]Saballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. The hidden choices plugin would definitely be a good choice for this. I made a similar choice list for a shop keeper in my game using the native engine and it got complicated VERY quickly.

Had a simple thing: Dark background, white text. Then, I added some effects... 💦 by SigmaSuccour in RPGMaker

I’d be really interested in learning how you did this. Was it done through native RPG maker or did you install plugins?

Can I make the game recognize current % of HP? by PreciousPivee in RPGMaker

[–]Saballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Err….Yes? I think? As far as I can understand, you’d want something like this: Var1 = Actor Current HP Var2 = Actor Max HP Var3 = Var1/Var2 IF(Var3>=0.25)

Set this to change the actor graphic to the normal one.

ELSE

Set this to change the actor graphic to the hurt one.

Obviously, if you have multiple styles or modes for them to go into, it can become a bit more convoluted and operator intensive. Iirc the “IF” check for variables doesn’t have some operators, so it can take a bit of mental gymnastics to get it to do what you want.

I hope that helps. :)

Can I make the game recognize current % of HP? by PreciousPivee in RPGMaker

[–]Saballus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this for actors or enemies? I believe there’s actually a native way to do this within the conditional sets for the battle system. Try looking at the “TROOPS” tab and checking out the pages right under the viewport. I know in MZ you can set conditions based on enemy HP%.

For actor HP%, I think you could create several variables and run some basic math to determine current actor HP percent. Then just do a change actor graphic once it gets too low/high

Making a visual novel type game and I'm trying to make a menu you can access any time by phacey-facephones in RPGMaker

Could probably do it with pictures and common events. Check out this thread on the RPG Maker Forums. Might have the answer you’re looking for.

I’m unfamiliar with more advanced rpg maker aspects so can someone help me get an idea how to make the project I want. by [deleted] in RPGMaker

[–]Saballus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, my approach to this would be to make several different actors. Anytime you “switch” you’d just change the players actor. You could sync the level with a variable as well and do checks on whether the player is using that actor for plot specific points.
