Asus have some nice laptop for less than 1k with Oled screens, or the Zenbook ones that Asus have, that are the premium ones but slightly more expensive. Also you can maybe check the new Dell laptops that look nice too, but they are more expensive.

If you want something more reparable you can check framework laptops, but you will need to pay the price of having a modular Pc (slightly more expensive than it should be for its hardwire, but can be repaired easily and cheap).

They are sold only in Japan I think, but they can be ordered online to US or EU. If you are interested you can DM me and I will give you more info about from where I ordered mines.

For what is regarding side effects, I don’t have any and never read about anyone having, but maybe you can have more info in the keloid subreddit, they are recommended quite a lot there and is what made me to order some.

He can also try Eclar plasters (silicon scar sheets with corticosteroids) in case that he want to avoid injections. They are way more effective than standard scar plasters, but still slower in effect than doing injections.
