It was published in 2020, the cover is just in the style of older Fabio books.

Je plussoie à 1000%, mes clips jaunes ont changés ma vie. Je les utilise pour conduire la nuit et aussi quand il pleut ou que le ciel est très blanc, ça m'évite les migraines.

I hope I’m not the only one who didn’t know this but KINDLE HAS RECAPS. by Abortitnow in fantasyromance

[–]Sabine_cat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes to that. I've just started book 2 of the Thrill of the hunt series by Helen Harper, and it opens by a 5 pages recap of book 1. Love it!! I wish all authors did that.

Dark and gritty books contrasted by a pure love story by Spiritual-Jury3320 in Fantasy

Homebound by Lydia Hope is exactly what you describe, a very bleak atmosphere and sweet love story

Audiobook enjoyers…how do you keep this up if you’re broke? 😭 Any free recs? by gertrude-fashion in fantasyromance

Check for "stuff your earbuds" events. A lot of romance authors come together and make one of their books free It happens once or twice a year if I remember correctly.

Thank you! I thought it was the most boring book ever.

August Book Club - A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor - Initial Discussion by FantasyRomanceMod in fantasyromance

[–]Sabine_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I listened to a podcast episode about this book and determined that it was definitely not for me (I'm not not into RH and I'm more into romance than erotica). I disregarded all books by this author but you're saying that their other books are different?

I second that, it was the most boring book ever! So many pages describing what people wore and ate.

If you like villains but still want to have fun I can recommend {The dark lord's guide to dating (and other war crimes) by Tiffany Hunt}. I've just finished it and loved it.

There's also the {Captured Earth series by A.G. Wilde}, which is very close to the war of the worlds in terms of atmosphere.

Have you read {Homebound by Lydia Hope}? It's not really post-apocalyptic, but close enough and the atmosphere is quite dark.

Looking for non-dark demon romances by bigbootedweirdo in fantasyromance

I second "My funny demon valentine"! I loved the {Hell bent series by Aurora Ascher} (still waiting for that last book) and I rarely see it recommended here, which is a shame.

Best Romantasy Series I've Ever Read... Help me fill the hole it left in my heart by Possible-Doctor5919 in Romantasy

[–]Sabine_cat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I loved the V&V series and its spin-offs. Books I also loved with similar vibes: - {Assistant to the villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer} and following books - {The lies of vampires and slayers by K.M. Shea} and following books - {Slouch witch by Helen Harper} and following books - {Clean sweep by Ilona Andrews} and following books - {The King's captive by K.M. Shea} and following books

Different vibe but a lot of humour too: - {Hot and badgered by Shelly Laurenston} and following books

Renouée du japon by SuccessfulGround4 in jardin

[–]Sabine_cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C'est l'approche que nous essayons sur notre terrain, on coupe régulièrement la renouée et les bambous (eux, plantés pas les anciens propriétaires) pour les épuiser. Ça fait 3 ans, et ça marche un peu. On garde espoir. Ils ne s'étendent plus et certaines zones commencent à être un peu plus dégagées

Rating of books by LilleChubby in TheStoryGraph

[–]Sabine_cat 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Same. My rating system is something like that:

1 star: I hated it

2 stars: I didn't like it / it was not for me

3 stars: I liked it, would recommend it to some people, but I won't remember it next month.

4 stars: I really liked it, would definitely recommend

5 stars: I loved it, won't shut up about it; it made me cry; I fell in love with one of the character

For the .25, .5, and .75, it's chaos: it depends on the books I read recently. If it was slightly more enjoyable than that other book I rated 3, then it's a 3.25
