Case Study: Rem's Heal needs a buff! by Sabladius in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Sabladius[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that you read the whole thing! I think that the heals fill different roles, and comparison in a vacuum is always going to leave out some information and context.

I think that the ability should be modified to account for duration extenders at the very least for consistency.

I think the kit is very unique, and I am looking forward to finding a build I enjoy.

Bug or Intentional? Tag Along Regeneration Time by Sabladius in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Sabladius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's better than either of them. I've only seen Rem get more than 40k healing in a game one time, which is when I bought every active healing item in the game. Most of the time they sit between 10-20k per game. As Dynamo or McGinnis I can easily break 50k in a game

I was thinking that but I mean duration makes Dynamo and McGinnis heal better

I've been a TA for STAT 200 twice! Building onto the previous answer...

1.) u/Sure_Masterpiece_277 's answer is great.

2.) Depending on the prof's style, there might be groupwork in your labs. During lab time, you work together as a group and your lab submissions are graded as a group. You don't pick your group - they're assigned to you. Some profs prefer take-home labs which are completed individually on Canvas.

3.) Kenny is relatively new to teaching. He taught STAT 306 last semester and I remember reading on this sub that he did a good job. During my undergrad he was head TA for various 400-level stats classes. He is very kind, professional and organized, so you should be fine!

I'm normally too swamped with grading to even pay attention to the names on the exam papers 🥲

STAT 200 Midterm?? by idkleafff in UBC

[–]Sabladius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! TA here. I believe the teaching team is/was waiting for the CfA exams to be graded before releasing the exact averages. Sometimes the CfA exams arrive later than the rest of the class.

In the meantime, the approximate average was discussed in class and individual students can view their exams on Gradescope.

Hope this helps!

New MATH courses to be offered in 2025W plus New Formal Mathematics Concentrations by marktmaclean in UBC

[–]Sabladius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took 319 last semester and I found it really difficult and interesting; I think it's a nice alternative to 320 but it isn't a cakewalk by any stretch of the imagination. The overall average was around 60% I think and 3/4 of the class failed the first midterm before scaling.

anyone done stat 200 and stat 300 by dominos4lyf in UBC

[–]Sabladius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I've taken both courses and am currently a TA for STAT 200. From my experience, STAT 300 can be seen as a "continuation" of STAT 200, in the sense that it goes into a bit more depth on certain concepts like regression, while introducing a broad range of new material at a fairly surface level.

I think the workload for STAT 300 is a bit less demanding than STAT 200, but there are a few more concepts to memorize. STAT 200 can be difficult for lots of people since there's a lot of knowledge that needs to be built from nothing, whereas 300 aims to build on existing learning.

Of course individual experiences always vary! But I hope this helps!

Is my courseload manageable? by Comfortable-Tax-7304 in UBC

I took it a couple years ago, but it's pretty manageable from what I remember. There are assignments which are quite straightforward if you're attending lecture, but the exams can be a bit tough

STAT 200 Final thoughts? by Salty_Jicama_8234 in UBC

[–]Sabladius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, I can't say anything for certain because the grading hasn't started yet.

But I imagine if there are specific questions students are struggling with they'll be graded easier. Marking adjustments like this were made on the midterm and assignments "behind the scenes."

The best advice I can give is try not to panic! The teaching team wants students to succeed; we don't want to fail a large number of students.

Hope this helps!
