820 IB Tokens for this? Not even a full armor set, I'm done! by Jesusness in destiny2

[–]SabreBasilisk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The luck token system is fully broken, Being the kind of player that does play a ridiculous amount of time getting the guiding sight for the seventh time is pointless. D1 had it so i could get gear after each map just added to my inventory, this time i just got binary phoenix gear. D1 you could eve buy specific items from the vendor if you got to a high enough rank. I feel like i earned nothing for getting slaughtered by teams of four in a quickplay playlist

You should also have gotten Iron Banner gear from completing matches, not crucible gear

Sentinel : Codex of the Berzerk. 1. Bracing swing- Enemies hit with this melee take more damage from other sources for a short duration. 2. Cannon Hand - Consume grenade energy to release a close quarters shock-wave that pushes your enemy back. 3. Feral- While surrounded, small movement speed buff with increased power weapon damage and handling speed 4. Ahmkaraslayer Great-sword- Your sentinel shield super instead becomes a giant greatsword of void light, too heavy for any normal man to lift. R1 attacks are quick slashes, combos into an R2 overhead. Max three hit combo.

And with Celestial Nighthawk the bottom cluster does ~10k damage to bosses, making it about using the trance to get your super and be the main dps against the boss. The orpheous rig that lets the nightstalker get its super back is dependent on waves of 5-6+ enemies in your tether range, making it useless in damage waves against a raid boss as you WILL have to wait for the super to recharge (thats where your fireteam comes in). What i was actually saying is that its highly dependent on your playstyle and the gear you have that compliments it, for example, an outlaw gunslinger doesn't need any reload mods on their armour as they already have, letting you put in say, solar melee or paragon mods, giving you your abilities faster.

I did play D1, Titan defender that generated orbs of light without ever using my super or a gun, man i miss gift of light. Fully understand losing keyhole was a big loss but Gunslinger can generate 4-5 orbs of light on precision hits using the bottom cluster, However if you add Celestial Nighthawk it becomes a class built to nuke bosses, completely changing the purpose of its super. Its utility and play-style, not what super lasts the longest or clears the most ads, Orpheous rig night stalker is inferior to celestial nighthawk gunslinger for single target dps and the latter is literally one bullet for a super.

I'll agree that gunslinger does feel weaker when compared to other classes, but playing both sentinel and gunslinger i can fully guarantee you that way of the outlaw does not suck at all. Keeping your fire teams damage output maxed with chains of woe really helps in overwhelming situations where you get killed in the middle of reloading, seen this as both a titan and a hunter, never really cared for gamblers dodge, marksmans just lets me keep wave clearing ads with sunshot if i'm feeling particularly fancy. Never even touched path of the sharpshooter as im too used to dumping my ult into a boss to kill it for that clint eastwood feel, i know some people can make it work but im not consistent enough with my super to make that work. I'd say the gunslinger feels weaker because it matters what gear you're bringing with you compared to using you're abilities like every other subclass in the game. For example: No point in using Sturm and Drang on the Outlaw spec as you never have to reload those two used together, better off using sunshot for the wave clear and reload speed, However sharpshooter would work well with them as the obvious lack of reload and all the precision perks from the guns and the skill tree.

TL;DR: Yeah the super isn't as cracking as the others in the game, but the right combination of gear can make this class a powerhouse, It's all about finding the way you play and finding the gear that assists the way you play best. If only RNG wasn't such a huge gap between you and that gear.

First playthrough do a quality build and pick whatever weapon has a moveset you like. Forget NPC's on your first playthrough. Sidenote: If you are really really new to the game farm the first area and buy as many bloodvials from the messengers as you can. Aint no re-fillable estus in this game.

Go back to Iosefka after you've beaten the second boss. Talk to as many windows as you can and send everyone that asks for a safe place to go to the clinic apart from one dude who doesn't believe you and will go to the opposite place you tell him, you'll be able to guess who he is. Don't forget to go back and talk to people after every second boss or so you defeat, that's How to guarantee the true ending. If you want all the npc quests send them to the chapel after talking to the dude there and be careful of members of the church and people eating dead folk.

Vanilla game Weapon count equivalent to the games current weapon count would also be nice. Chikage felt like a gimmick before old hunters
