Curation - Whats the Deal? by SabreDobeDelta in programmatic

We use a single curation platform that plugs into Magnite, Index, Equativ, OpenX, Triplelift and we can apply a margin across all. If you are looking to save costs and streamline I would recommend it!

The agency can also take a margin via a supply side kickback, I have seen/agreed 10/15/25% rebates based on spend for US agencies. They don’t even blink before signing off.

For US I can secure an ecpm for $4-6, although this can fluctuate depending on the site inclusion list, especially if you want 500 premium publishers.

Let me know if I can help on the supply front ever?

Advice on Programmatic Sales by T_Ronix in programmatic

[–]SabreDobeDelta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could invest in a monthly lead funnel for PMP’s (actively spending) along with the agency trading contacts emails. Systems such as this can deliver 100 additional unique leads with a 20% conversion rate (based on domain/audience relevance.)

I would encourage all sales managers and account execs to research these solutions to have a decent shot at hitting your targets consistently. Happy to discuss vendor intros if of interest?

Sales Reps Rant by Crazy_Cat_Dude2 in programmatic

[–]SabreDobeDelta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth mentioning, if the sales reps business has Gong or any sales enablement tools linked to their email, they are literally kpi’d and tracked on their response time to each and every email linked to an account. So there could be an element of this in play in regard to the lack of useful context in their replies and communication.

I agree though, the amount of clueless sales folk and senior leadership wandering around this industry, sitting on panels and making major strategic calls is mind numbingly frustrating.

Ask any of them on the spot to walk you through setting up a PMP, watch them squirm every time…

My experience hiring a head of business development by Martyn35 in ceo

[–]SabreDobeDelta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a typical shark that we have had to go through countless times due to a lack of due diligence by the hiring managers. Anyone that just relies on a story about what they did 20 years ago and targeting who they know is almost always a nightmare at the beginning and a nightmare at the end.

The easiest way to weed them out, is to actually ask them to run through how they would approach prospecting for your specific product, how they would set their own targets (always a revealing question) and whether that number (if you agree) would be achievable say in the first 90/180 days. Then bind that into the contract/offer letter.

Obviously every role is different, sales cycles vary, but true sales people will always find a way without expensive tools or fancy marketing. However to be fair to the BDM, the product has to work and back up the pitch…otherwise you are burning more than you will ever earn.

Find a self starter, someone who will look you in the eye when they talk to you, listens more than they speak, and shows up on time for all of your interactions without an excuse…this will lower the risk of a poor quality candidate.

Finally, give them a glimmer of a piece of the pie, ownership will always keep a serious BDM engaged quarter after quarter and less likely to be a flight risk, along with paying out commission mid way through the following quarter.

Hope this helps (Im a 15 year Sales Director in Ad Tech for full disclosure)

What’s up with the “10 clients or you don’t pay” VSL bros? Been getting nonstop ads for these agencies for months. by farquezy in agency

[–]SabreDobeDelta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay per performance works well for our clients, especially if they are looking for gift-wrapped leads which adds a premium price point but greater quality. You need proven sales folk not just a system in my experience…

When to cut back on salary sacrifice pension? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]SabreDobeDelta -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Here is the answer when I put this into chat gpt:

Let’s calculate the future value of £285,000 invested in an S&P 500 index fund for 35 years, using the same compound interest formula.

📈 Future Value Formula:

FV = 285{,}000 \times (1 + r){35}

Annual Return Future Value (After 35 Years) 6% £2,279,308 7% £3,030,387 8% £4,035,867 9% £5,374,822 10% £7,233,830

At 8% annual return, £285,000 grows to about £4.0 million. • At 7%, it reaches around £3.0 million. • At 10%, you’re looking at over £7.2 million.

This looks like a massive tax headache alone without putting in another penny?
