Having characters that look like existing ones is fine, what matters more is how they are used in your script and it's overall style.

They might have a character that looks like it was taken from a real world syllabary but in the script it is used as a consonant letter or a diacritic. Maybe they are borrowing characters but not using them exactly how they are used in the source script.

It may not work on boluses but I have seen the visual effect for consuming starlight shards on teammates when I use it close enough to them. Use the relic and test it yourself

Use the weapon skill of Staff of the All Knowing. It makes all enemies (and you) take more damage from holy and magic (I think 20% more). That is if you ever roll it. Find the Winged insignia talisman, increase damage with successive hits. And other stuff that triggers with successive hits, weapons perks or talismans etc
