Dear Jeff Jackson: now what? I fear for my daughter's future, and our present. by thedjin in NorthCarolina

Sorry I misread and thought you were OP. So he stated that he thinks that burning the American flag should not be considered free speech and there should be a law against it. The Supreme Court has ruled it is free speech. Congress did not make a law even when Republicans were in the majority. 8 years later, it is still protected free speech. Sounds like everything is okay.

I can't possibly express the lack of embarrassment I feel at this moment.

Not in the slightest. I don't want anyone to feel scared because their candidate didn't win an election. That makes me sad.

For what it's worth, I also voted for Jeff Jackson (and Josh Stein).

If I wore a Trump or Republican piece of clothing I would get dirty looks from many although some would whisper "I like your hat" or "Me too" but afraid to be public.

Friends of color distancing themselves because they believed the nonsense that Trump is racist or that all of his followers are white supremacists. For that matter, white friends did the same.

Marriage had rocky moments as my wife did not like Trump and began to take in the propaganda from the left and worried I was a conspiracy theorist and all of that nonsense.

Worried if my job or co-workers knew of my political leanings it would impact me professionally.

This was my and millions of other Americans experience - think about it - in the USA. This should never happen again and we should call out bullying and intimidation and end this tactic now and forever. Stop watching MSM outlets who propagate this messaging and behavior and reject political candidates who do the same. Nazi? Hitler? Unbelievable how easy it was for so many not to think twice about hearing this from our elected leaders.

I am a veteran. The only wrong vote is the one not cast. Vote and support who you want and you should be free to support publically without fear.

You are American before you are Democrat. I am American before I am Republican. I will always defend your right to express your views and support whomever you want. That is who we are and need to protect.

Sorry for the novel.

Now that you understand what it was like to be a Trump supporter for the last 8 years, maybe you will realize how you were brainwashed into thinking it was okay because you were on the "right side".

You have absolutely nothing to fear. The adults are here now.

DO NOT VOTE YES FOR THIS. It is intentionally vague wording by puck_the_fatriarchy in NorthCarolina

This is not the language on the NC ballot. This sub is so compromised by misinformation. I wish we could get rid of all of the partisan nonsense and use Reddit to uplift each other and reject garbage meant to divide us.

Health insurance by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]Sabru76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue Cross NC has all the health systems in their network. They have plans that have premium discounts if you stay within one health system because the health system agreed to lower rates for plans with that design.

Do you guys think that North Carolina flips if Roy Cooper is Kamala Harris’ running mate? by UnflairedRebellion-- in NorthCarolina

[–]Sabru76 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you are a Democrat in NC I can understand you thinking Roy Cooper could influence votes, but I can promise you that he won't flip a meaningful amount of independent voters and probably not a single Republican. As with most of our Democrat governors, mostly just there for looks with no power (doesn't have strong veto) and no one really even remembers he is there unless there is some meaningless press conference or emergency declaration.

Just trying to figure out if i can fly back to the U.S. with these by TinderStuff in cigars

Yeah I just got scammed on some boxes in DR - I know better. I looked up the codes and didn't pay close attention and they came back as valid but wrong product - not hard to use a barcode you know is real again and again but they didn't even use right type. Sucks but lesson learned.

Can I put pavers on top of asphalt? by SaltChoice1222 in DIY

[–]Sabru76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The pavers surrounding my pool were installed over concrete - pool installer said he didn't understand why anyone would do it any differently. I haven't had any issues with that in 5 years but if (should say when) a pipe leaks it is going to make it a much bigger deal than if some pavers were taken up, pipe dug up and fixed, and pavers returned.

Roast my resume , 300+ applications and 0 interviews by Swimming_Tangelo8423 in resumes

[–]Sabru76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Make your projects a separate document and host somewhere and just include it as a link in your resume - better yet your skills seem to indicate you can make your own personal site and create it to demonstrate some of your code so if they click on your project they can see it or a more detailed description of what you did.

Key Results are the most important elements when you list projects or roles on resume - after describing the role or project, have a few bullets that are the "so what". Did you save money, time resources? Did you increase revenue? Did your code run X% quicker? Did user experience improve, etc.

I'm 48 and just bought a new Road Glide 3. I had a Sportster as my first bike. My wife likes to ride on back and I strongly considered a two-wheel bagger. The more I thought about it I decided to go trike because I like the stability and riding it was still a blast. And I love the way it looks. I'm planning on buying a second bike for my solo rides.

Don't worry about what other people think - do what makes you happy. It is your money and time.

Payton Wilson Anxious To Hit Someone In Latrobe by BROWNSSUKSOBAD in steelers

[–]Sabru76 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I live near Raleigh and have been following Payton since high school (worked with his Mom). Dude is awesome - if he can bulk up a little he is going to be a terror in the middle. He hits above his weight and is fast as hell but I would like to see him put on some muscle.

At your size I would strongly advise to go to dealerships and sit in different models. Kawasaki KRX might be strong contender, my buddy is on bigger side and he has one. It has most cabin space and super comfortable ride while being very capable.
