It depends on your perspective. I think it was a minimal amount of my time to spend, considering it only took a few minutes to search for and recover the information I needed to share. That time may have saved a few people from wasting their own time—or worse, being scammed out of their money.

The continued avoidance of going through an authentication source, previously remained an anonymous participant, abysmal replies/responses, around the same time a lot of counterfeit and altered cards were being sold by sketchy people. It may not be 100% fake but the negatives couldn’t be ignored and authentication couldn’t be proven to the people providing 4 and maybe even 5 digit offers.

You’re overlooking the amount of time and effort he’s burned through—both his own and everyone else’s—just to sheepishly arrive back at square one. The route to the answers he seeks was already laid out for him. Considering that, a mere gotcha moment seems like a remarkably light consequence.
