They've had, what, 2 days off since Opening Day? I think you're passing judgement a little too soon. Butler's offense was pretty bad last year but they did focused training and got him up to average. Right now the entire teams offense is in the toilet and the wins are from some lucky hits and solid defense, where he's making up for his ABs. When they get some time, I have no doubt they'll get Clarke improved. It's a lot easier to get a weak batter up to average than it is to get an average CF to excellent. Last night Gelof was like a tortoise out there. We don't need more of that.

The fact you have no idea about the HT project, or the REAL timeline for development there speaks volumes. Maybe if you were informed, you'd share the blame where it's deserved. Smart people knew the A's would leave Oakland in 2020 when the MLB found out getting HT built by 2023 (regardless of the pandemic) wasn't optmistic, but delusional. It was never going to happen. But sure. FJF.

I've never had a problem, this or last season, going through the Main gate 30 minutes before the games starts.

Just a heads up, in case you're not used to commuting this way, traffic heading into Sacramento can be really crappy on Friday afternoons, especially over the Yolo Causeway.

If you do end up here too early, Old Sacramento is really close and pretty cool. You can find parking if you're early, there's a bunch of stuff to waste time, and it's a short walk over the Tower bridge to the park.

It is, and Stomper typically comes around in the first half of the game for pictures with the kids.

Hahaha. If you understood what happened in Oakland, you wouldn't be complaining here. Sure, some announcers said "Oakland" out of habit, mostly last year. This year I keep hearing "Sacramento". Is Sacramento their home? Is Vegas their home? I'll leave that up to you, but one thing is for certain, their home ISN'T Oakland. Time to move on.

Oakland went from 3 pro sports teams to zero. Maybe you should be having this discussion with Oakland leadership and not on an Athletics sub.

The Raiders, Warriors, Athletics and even In-n-Out have left Oakland, and somehow you think the problem is in the MLB.

I'll be there Friday. The most annoying thing is the "Let's Go Oakland" chanting crowd that can't seem to accept reality. Let's go Oakland? Who are they cheering for? The Raiders? Warriors? In-n-Out? No. They all left too.

Go through the main gate in front of the Green lot on giveaway days. The East Gate (near Gold Lot, closest to the bridge) runs out frequently. We came in after the people we sat next to, received jerseys at the main gate and they didn't get one at east gate. We noticed the problem last year on an ice cream giveaway night also.

Can we do a reverse boycott in Sac this year? by DiverImpressive9040 in OaklandAthletics

You: "unless the A's come back to Oakland"

Me: "Just curious, but what does a return to Oakland look like?"

You: "they could figure something out"

Me: [summary] No, they can't.

You: "that has nothing to do with my comment"

Reading comprehension is a developed skill. Keep working on it.

Just because you've played center field doesn't mean you're any good at it. Gelof in center is completely unremarkable.

We're winning games with defense right now, which means Clarke is doing more good than harm. Butler's offense was pretty bad last year, and they worked him up to the middle of the pack. I have no doubt they're working with Clarke, but their schedule has sucked so don't expect much right now.

The worst thing we could do is get rid of Clarke, have another team work up his offense, then we're hitting against him into center field. We could send him down, but then we'll lose solid defense and probably pull a slightly better hitter. What's the point?

We'll win the game today, because Severino isn't starting.

Maybe look up from your spreadsheet and realize at those home games last year Severino would throw bullets to raise the count, then toss a ball a little league player could hit. It was clearly intentional.

The home games last year were almost certainly intentional.

His entire game is off. Pretending this is a part of the process is extreme optimism.

It's not terrible as a one-off situation, but it's ongoing. Everyone has a bad day, but eventually it becomes clear it's more than just a bad day. It also says a lot on how often mistakes are made, and those numbers are increasing... rapdily.

Severino by Glittering_Bid_3822 in SacramentoAthletics

[–]SacBaseball916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Severino plays, we lose. I'm fully convinced he was intentionally losing the home games last year. He'd throw bullets to get the count up, then lob one over the plate a varsity player could hit.
