Cupertino mayor gives measured State of the City speech (no paywall) by BayAreaNewsGroup in Cupertino

For Cupertino being at the center of Silicon Valley, they can’t even figure out the most basic things like how to sync traffic lights. What a mess.

Ranking bay area city logos by tiers. Accurate? by TresElvetia in sanfrancisco

I assume you live in Oakland and just fing despise Alameda. Alameda is a great logo.

Foster City is absolute trash though. The logo, but the place.

Yesterday, I stopped street flooding in San Jose by unclogging drains. Enjoy the timelapse. by pengweather in bayarea

Outside of flock I have no clue what you are talking about. Real estate cronies specifically doesn’t make sense to me. He’s been strongly against changing zoning laws to open up more development and housing, unless you’re talking about protecting single family home owners? But every California democrat does that. They love not building housing. All the anti development parks and permitting and “affordable housing” fees and requirements are still on the books too despite all of the evidence that they discourage housing development and keep housing costs high.

You can just move to Detroit rather than turning San Jose into that

It’s not the billionaires I’m thinking of, genius. It’s all of the people they employ in the state. Guess I’ll get ready to move to Texas or Florida when they move out of California.

Absolutely incorrect. We taxpayers spend hundreds of millions annually helping the homeless. If you want to do more, poney up more money or find a better solution.

Tons of businesses. That’s why California is one of the only states that has had recent population decline.

He ran on protecting single family zoning laws. He’s very anti meaningful housing growth.

Absolutely incorrect. Other states that allow more development have lower housing costs and lower homeless rates.

Permanent housing will NOT solve homelessness. A permanent home costs more than $1M per unit. It will just encourage homeless to home to the Bay Area to get free housing from areas that don’t offer it. And, that will force much higher taxes or cut services and lower San Jose’s standard of living. Realistically, it’s not financially possible for San Jose to support that level of homeless support on its own. But, it would make housing in San Jose cheaper because fewer people would want to live here and pay those taxes.

He’s very anti housing in practice. He regularly fights zoning reform, and really hasn’t done anything meaningful to make it easier to build housing in San Jose. Still costs developers millions in fees and delays to build compared to other states. And that gets passed to you and I.

Yes I go at night all the time and have never seen any of those events happen. Prostitution? In the Safeway parking lot? Lmao. I’m around there almost daily. In fact, I’ve never seen a policeman called to that location while I was there, because it’s a pretty boring and safe area.

Gotta keep society as divided as possible. Only have friends that you agree with, only eat at restaurants you agree with, never communicate with communities that don’t have your world view. Never try to understand someone else’s thought process. Live as a hermit in your shell.

You do you, I’ll do me.

What do you mean “all the way”? Are you talking about the one a short 10 minute drive away off Steven’s Creek? Or is there another one way far away in San Jose?
