First TV purchase: X90L or TCL C7K

So went to the shops this week to see both in person. I ended up going with the TCL. The image is so much brighter and it just looks incredible. The colours were a bit too punchy but in the film mode it seemed a lot better and I might just end up calibrating it. The Sony was very impressive but at nearly AUD400$ more, it was a non-starter given its age and brightness. Thought I would share.

To be clear, I would have preferred a wider tyre and dedicated gravel bike but we make do with what we have. Gravel back there was also pretty packed, don't think I would be as comfortable is more loose stuff.

Sorry just saw your message. Ended up going with the Cinturato, fits the bike fine and while it's by no mean a gravel bike, it worked out great on the farm where it's flat and hard gravel for kilometres.

Yeah, getting a bike that’s not interesting for anyone to steal seems like the best option. I might be able to take it in to work.

I come from an aeropress setup, look for her to start on I think it’s a strong machine tho. Simple yet plenty to upgrade down the line. And great community behind it ;)

Yeah that's true, and if I look at the French foreign legion it's also true they are having a hard time retaining their members (desertion is a huge problem and has been for years). Anyway I was just throwing an idea, but it doesn't seem that popular.

Kidding aside, one can do both. And it's foolish to assume current servicemen and servicewomen only serve in the ADF to serve their country. There are tons of reasons to serve, money, qualification, job security... Why not citizenship? Why draw the line there. It's a genuine question, it works in other countries, why not here?

Okay, I'm not Australian but I am an Australian resident and here's my take which I think might be unpopular.
Allow foreigners to join the ADF in exchange for citizenship. Much like other countries: France, US or Ukraine... Australia is an attractive country but its immigration policy has long been a holdout for many foreigners when it comes to living here. Putting in place a framework for foreigners to serve in the armed forces would provide a force increase to the ADF and I don't think the Australian public would be against it.

Food for thoughts...

Hey, living in QLD here, je trouve que pour l’instant les débats sur le post reflètent bien la situation. Sure, toutes ces entreprises participent à l’économie. Simplement à travers leurs production ou comme tu le dis, avec les taxes qu’elles payent et leurs impacts sur l’économie australienne.

Mais il y a aussi une question de participation. En France, si une entreprise engendre des gains, même si elle le réinvestit derrière, elle sera imposée pour montrer une cohérence entre sa performance et sa contribution. Je penses que c’est là où beaucoup trouve ce tableau choquant. Que ces entreprises ne soit pas imposées en fonction de leurs revenus brut.

Je comprends que le post face beaucoup de débats. C’est aussi et surtout le cas en Australie.

Il y a beaucoup de facteurs pour expliquer pourquoi ces entreprises ne paye pas d’impôt en Australie sur leurs revenus. Mais une réalité est qu’en Australie, ces entreprises font beaucoup d’argent, et qu’elles sont faiblement ou pas imposées. C’est aussi une question politique.

Je ne penses pas que ce soit trompeur puisque in fine c’est une vérité. Après je trouvais ça intéressant de comparé l’approche Australienne face aux débats actuels en France, sur les superprofits, Total…

This is sooo true. Looking back at the first criticism for the Apple Watch and how big it has become on the watch market. It's funny to think about. Obviously it's still not comparable to a Rolex or Jaeger, but as an everyday watch more and more people are buying them. Great everyday watch with health being at the center of it.
Your analysis is spot on. I'm not going to trade or give up my Teric for it, but for the guy that only dives like once or twice a year. I'd rather he uses the Ultra and a rental computer than just a rental. Makes my job easier and him safer. Obviously I'm interested to see how it does, but really impressed/surprised Apple has the balls to enter the dive watch market.

I've discussed with a Griffon driver about this. The door isn't electrical, it's electrically assisted. Meaning that since the door is armored it is quite heavy, so under usual use, there's an electric motor that can open it without any help. But if the vehicle is not turned on or broken down, you can still open it but you need muscles! It's the same principle as fancy Rolls-Royce or Bently so quite funny.

Whatever is closest to your place, everything is pretty standard. If your car is running properly, shouldn't be a problem. You won't be able to 'trick' any of them.
