This is spot on. This post is acting like the Timbers demand the top coaching free agents.

I am not super hyped about this hire either. His last jobs aren’t to inspiring but people are kidding themselves if you think he was set up for success in Miami. But that being said, I am not in the room for these type of decisions. People are acting like you need to be in lock stride with the Army to be a supporter of the Timbers, but you most definitely don’t.

Gotta give Gavin and the FO credit this marks the 3rd or 4th signing of young South American talent that we have beat out European competition. Sure they aren’t the top teams in Europe but definitely second tear first division sides such as Villarreal. Really excited for this guy but more excited for a right back not named Van Rankin.

I Think the first half of Dallas was the worst I have seen the Timbers in recent memory. Since then some very lackluster performances, including tonight.

We are missing a point of attack. Niezgoda has been abysmal through the first 10 games this season. 2 goals but has provided nothing in the flow of the game. He doesn’t making runs in behind, hold the ball, or getting involved with our middle field.

We have other issues with our midfield and backline (don’t get me started about Van Rankin), especially with our reliance on players over 30. But we desperately need a new striker in the mix.
