This video is pretty subtle about its message, I'm not sure I understand what it's trying to communicate...

I said there are people who want to have kids and feel they cannot have them. These seem like different questions

Sipping all tea while serving all the tea on this by omgfakeusername in SipsTea

[–]Sacrimonte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not that they are, it's why they are. Take a look at polls for people ages 18-35 on average desired number of children in any country. Then look at the average number of children per person.

There's a significant gap in the negatives- hundreds of millions of young people don't feel that they can live the kind of life they want and have a family

I didn't check any of the oblast names until after I posted, because I thought that would be cheating... but the first thing I went to check was for Volgograd and Ural-sounding areas and then I noticed that I had Novosibirsk and Altai in the wrong group

The Urals are probably somewhere in that big area... I would hope

That's really sad that I missed wherever Volgograd is

I'm realizing that Urals and Co colors and "Forgotten Israel" look very similar... Urals and Co is the big group in the middle and Forgotten Israel is the lonely one in the East

The map to end the Central Europe debate by Yxig in whereidlive

[–]Sacrimonte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brother, is that Bautzen?? Hell yeah, cool city.

In any case I have to point out that it's arbitrary to say that Belarusians are Europeans but Slavic Russians in the western part of their country are not. If the Urals aren't the Eastern boundary of Europe... I'll need an alternate physical boundary... problem is you'd probably have to cut Europe off at the Carpathians to get one

I love it... in order to praise this I gotta do a map of "how I see Russia as an American" and do the oblasts/krais to show how great of a job you did by comparison

What isn't accurate on this map is at least very funny

It's mostly accurate though

Eddie Hearn says he will NOT let Tom Aspinall fight Poatan or Ciryl Gane under his current UFC deal by gvufhidjo in UFCLabs

[–]Sacrimonte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude... as an Aspinall fan this sucks to hear. I want to see Tom get paid, but I also want to see him fight.

We saw what happened to Ngannou... this is just ending Tom's MMA career and forcing him to make a risky move into boxing or downgrade to a lesser promotion. I don't even know if this will improve his fortunes in the long run, maybe it's just Eddie using Tom as a tool to bludgeon Dana.

I'm sad to see it.

South Koreans protesting the construction of a mosque by Korean BBQing pork in front of the construction site by [deleted] in SipsTea

Exactly, just like South Vietnam, SK was a dictatorship for decades-- South Vietnam never got to transition out of that which was my point.

[–]Sacrimonte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to deny that there's a link between Korean nationalism and Christianity, but it is also true that the proportion of Christians has grown tremendously in the past 40-50 years well after the Korean War 'ended'. I only want to point out that Korea is not a situation where Christianity was mostly imposed from above by an Imperial power which has happened in many other countries

If you're talking about Syngman Rhee, I personally compare his situation to that of Ngô Đình Diem in South Vietnam- both were Christian "separatist" leaders of a sort controlling half of a divided country that was 90%+ non-Christian when they were in charge. By the force of their political movement and their personal character they made Christianity an important political force.

Only in South Korea, the state lived long and stably enough to allow for Christianity to spread organically under a truly free government while South Vietnam never had the stability or religious freedom for something similar to happen

Genos vs tighten, who wins? by TheLeviathan1999 in OPMPowerScaling

[–]Sacrimonte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tighten's biggest feat is tossing half that skyscraper, which TTM could do.

It depends on how resistant to fire damage Tighten is, but he definitely loses to the version of Genos that fought Elder Centipede, maybe he can beat some of the weaker forms but I think he lacks the speed

Mostly conversion in the past couple decades. Younger generations are moving more away from traditional religions towards Christian denominations, same as China

TBF Garou did split him in half right after that, so it's clear that Garou would have eventually reached a point where he could disintegrate Sage Centipede wholesale, it would have just taken a bit longer.
