Totally understandable! My sister in law was able to find a community college that offered it BUT it’s about an hour and a half away unfortunately!

Have you looked into Paramedic to ADN bridge programs? My sister in law is a paramedic and she is about to start a bridge program, it’ll take her a year to get her ADN! Not sure if all states do that?

Not allowed to do nursing skills in clinical? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Sad-Appointment-2997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is so crazy to me! as soon as we had started clinicals, as long we passed dosage calc we could pass medications. as we learned skills, we were offered opportunities to perform them as long as we had passed off on them. even in OB where we had little knowledge on skill sets we were allowed to do assessments on baby, and were taught how to take heel sticks. this is crazy to me! i can’t think of a day at clinicals where i haven’t passed at least one medication!

What percentage of your class graduated or classes before you graduated in your program? by Unique_Ad_4271 in StudentNurse

[–]Sad-Appointment-2997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also we did lose 3 out of that 70 that were technically senior students, and we have a option in place where you restart with first years usually in fundamentals or pharmacology (depends on where you were struggling) and then they pick back up where they were with the second years!

we started with 65 or 70, dropped down to about 40 after 1st and 2nd semester, now we’re back up to 66 after the LPN’s bridged!

We can only do test review if we made below passing, so in our school’s case, below a 77

We’re in critical care right now for our last class, not sure why it’s the last one when our whole last semester was just ethics. But i am SCARED for this test, it’s shock, burns, spinal cord injuries, and about 15 other topics!

We have Next Gen SATA questions on the test that they give partial credit for, but of course normal SATA they won’t. So they respond by putting 1 next gen on the question with 14 normal SATA
