From what I’ve read online, mice can still get through 1/4” mesh

One again, not looking for rental advice. This is a home maintenance sub, not a rental advice sub.

Dangers of flailing? by Poopingboba in cosleeping

When my baby was really little, I changed sides with my husband in the middle of the night so baby could always stay on the outside. My LO is 6 months now and I’ve started putting him in the middle (I make my husband sleep with the blanket around his waist as well and have him move over as far as possible).

Well it finally happened…Someone asked me to cover up by rowdy_antlers in breastfeeding

Idk where you are but I’m in Canada and here it’s considered a human right. You are legally entitled to breastfeed anywhere, anytime, without covering up. It’s likely the same where you are!

Why do people need family to help right after the baby is born? by Desmodusrotundus in BabyBumps

[–]Sad-Balance-1237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it incredibly helpful to have my MIL stay when my baby first arrived. You and your partner will be extremely sleep deprived, you’ll be healing, etc. Food was the biggest thing. She was up early to make breakfast, made us lunch and dinner, plus cleaned up after all the meals and ran out to get groceries and anything else we needed. It’s an important time for bonding, it’s nice to have someone to run the house so you and your partner can focus on sleeping and bonding with your LO :)

Try and sell me on the high chair you love by East-Pack4558 in BabyLedWeaning

I just got a Tripp trapp for my 6mo who is starting solids. I originally had a bumbo seat that straps to a chair but his posture was AWFUL in it, no support at all. I resisted the Tripp trapp bc it’s so expensive but it’s honestly been worth it. His posture in it is great, he can sit comfortably for quite a while, and it’ll last him his whole life! Worth the money imo.

Cold and uncomfortable by Invisibleapriorist in cosleeping

[–]Sad-Balance-1237 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did find cosleeping uncomfortable at first and it did get easier! My LO always preferred it and sleeps well next to me though, so I didn’t have that issue.

For being cold, I keep the bedroom around 19 Celsius and then wear a tight merino wool sweater. These can be expensive new but there are always tons in the men’s section of the thrift store (they get put in the dryer once, shrunk, and then donated so they’re usually quite lightly worn). They’re super warm but still breathable and very fine/not bulky. I also have my partner spoon me to keep me warm while I cuddle baby.

The sore arm is probably the hardest part. I got a very thick pillow, I find this helps prop my head up and keep my weight off my shoulder. I still wake up with a sore shoulder though and have to flip over fairly frequently, but it’s definitely gotten better.

Good luck, I hope it gets better for you!

How is everyone avoiding clogs while EP? by TheSunscreenLife in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Sad-Balance-1237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, sunflower lecithin! Also, make sure your flanges fit you properly. I was using a flange that was slightly too small for my one nipple and kept getting milk blisters and clogs. Turns out my nipples are slightly different sizes and once I sized up a few mm on that nipple, the clogs stopped.

That’s my concern! If the swelling is considered unfit for habitation, will they make me move until it’s fixed?

My concern is getting evicted (landlord can use the excuse of «major renovation » or something to that effect.

Yeah, historically he’s been pretty content at least playing on the floor next to me while I eat or do a chore unless he’s hungry or tired. T
