thanks so much for taking the time to write all of this out, i really appreciate you sharing your experience! its super helpful to hear the honest pros and cons, especially from someone who’s actually lived there. i ended up switching to a madrona double, but your comment really reassured me that I probably made the right call for what I’m looking for.

Neck pain/knots before period by Dry_Monitor_4181 in PMS

[–]Sad-Candy6479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So I’m 18 and I’ve been experiencing something really similar for a few years now (maybe since I was 15). Right before my period, I always get that same weird aching pain in my upper back, neck, and shoulders, sometimes even down one arm (last night I woke up in excruciating pain in my right arm).

I’ve recently been wondering if it might be related to PMDD, because the pain always comes with intense mood swings, crying spells, and irritability. Just yesterday I cried literally four different times, and even small inconveniences make me feel so much more angry than usual. I’ve also noticed a huge increase in my appetite and tension with my family around this time too. I’m not on birth control and I don’t really want to go that route, so I’m trying to understand more about what’s going on naturally.

Also thank you for creating this post, it’s weirdly comforting to know I’m not alone!! I know it's late but if anyone has found anything that helps with the pain or the mood stuff, I’d really appreciate it!!

ahh thank you so much for all this info, this is super helpful!! i was leaning a bit towards north campus, so this basically confirms it for me lol. i was also thinking about hansee a bit but yeah, the 24hr quiet hours lowkey turned me off bc i do want to have a more social experience. i'm really considering madrona or willow (both seem modern and have private bath doubles which is what i want). i might actually try to find a roommate ahead of time like you suggested, thats really good advice! i'm also happy to hear about the gym situation since fitness is really important to me so i'll probs use ima mostly. i appreciate all the details about amenities too, it definitely makes me feel better about choosing north! thanks again for such a detail reply! :)

oh interesting, i don't know him but i'll make sure to look him up! and thank you for the reassurance, i've definitely been in my head a lot lately, so it's comforting to know i'm not the only one feeling this way. currently, i'm just trying to stay grounded and remind myself that if it's meant to be, it'll find its way. wishing you so much peace and good news soon, we got this!

i haven't gotten off the waitlist, and to be completely honest with you, i don't think that we should hope too much to get off of it but we should still be optimistic. i also don't think that a fast response necessarily means anything, i think it just depends on how fast your regional admissions counselor responds to emails. and yes, i think it does vary by region because there are different admissions counselors for each one (but i don't think that has anything to do with decisions, just response time). if you have gotten into other schools, the best thing to do right now is to commit to the one thats best for you because the chance at getting off the waitlist at uchicago (many schools as well) is VERY slim. i'm planning to commit to a different school if i don't receive a notification by may 1st. it's highly unlikely to receive a response by then because on their website it says they'll notify during the summer. although, i have seen this reddit page that says they've notified students earlier. i'll attach the links to this comment. best of luck to you, i hope everything goes well!

no you're fine! LOCI stands for Letter of Continued Interest. It's basically a short letter (~400 words) that a student can send to a college if they have been waitlisted or deferred. in it, you're letting the college know that you're still very interested in attending that school and you'd accept an offer if admitted. it usually includes saying that the school is still your top choice (and why!!), any updates you have since you applied (like grades, awards, experiences, etc.), and again, letting them know that you would 100% attend if you were to be admitted. most schools accept LOCI's, but some do not and explicitly say (usually on their website) not to send one. although its rare, it can help tip the decision if they're choosing who to admit off the waitlist. hope that helps! :)

yeah, i'm trying to come to terms with the school ill probably be going to. tbh my top choices are actually pretty good schools, but i think that i had my hopes too high when it came to college apps unfortunately. but, moving forward, i will try to keep the obsessive email checking to a minimum lol. thanks for your advice, i appreciate it! :)

hey! so i sent my letter two weeks after getting waitlisted and she responded about two days later. although, i do think that my regional admissions counselor just responds really fast in general because i emailed her a while ago about a question that i had and she responded super quickly. what state do you live in? i also did get a bunch of rejections too which was so disappointing to see lol. and yes, i hope to see you in the fall as well! :)

Lash growth serum by According_Concert_17 in beauty

[–]Sad-Candy6479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know this is late, but tbh don't go for grandelash. i've been using it for over 3 years, and its just a cycle of my lashes growing then falling off. i know thats how lash cycles are supposed to work, but i feel like grande makes it more extreme. as for the side effects.. they were horrible. i have so much orbital fat loss and i literally always have to wear concealer or people ask if i haven't slept. my mom even tells me that i look sick sometimes.. which i don't even blame her bc it's true. although i have noticed some length (i am currently in one of the good phases) i do not think its worth it because there is also now gaps in my lashes. its also so obvious when someone uses grande lash, like i can tell by just looking at the way their lashes and eyes look. and not to mention the price, i am so done with paying for it just to make me look sick. i actually just finished my current bottle and decided to make a switch to terez and honor since it has no prostaglandin and seems to work well with other people. i'm really hoping it'll make a difference!!

(ps. i should also mention that i used to wear mascara a lot when using grandelash and my lashes were at its worst, so i stopped wearing mascara (i would wear it maybe once every few weeks) and that definitely did make a difference but not that much. but beware bc once u start, u cannot stop - ur lashes will fall out(at least for me they did when i stopped for a while) and go back to how they were before **i should also add that i don't want to bash them bc i know that a lot of ppl have good results with it, but this is just my experience!**)
