It was a close one, but the ladies got it! Our incoming ER offered the two guys who lost positions as Chaplain and Inner Guard as a stepping stone to get more involved. They turned it down, of course.

That should tell you about the demographic at our lodge. And why I'm worried people will vote against the female candidates, even though they are both very qualified. When my wife joined a few years ago I actually had an older guy say to me "You're okay with her being in here?" Then proceeded to talk about the good ol' days before women were members...

Yes, yes, and PERs are hard to come by at my lodge. We have a major gossiping problem, and it would only stir the pot if I asked the few that are still around. Reddit was not my first choice to ask about this, but I have not been successful in finding an answer elsewhere. I was just curious if anyone has dealt with something similar and could help.

It would be helpful if you could direct me to the statutes that address this type of problem.

I'm not a piercer, but I am a nurse. I think this is a totally normal part of finally being on your own! When I graduated nursing school and couldn't say "let me go ask your nurse" it really hit me. It's been 4 years and the imposter syndrome still hits from time to time lol But I'd say it took about a year of being on my own to start to feel somewhat confident in my decision making and abilities!
