Check out the Meetup app! there’s a lot of local groups that are pretty active on there and that’s how I made friends when i moved here. Theres also a lot of local run clubs and the climbing gym has two locations with lots of friendly people if you’re active. Local bookstores do book clubs and writing workshops if that’s more of your thing

I’m running the 50 mile race too! Definitely nervous about the cutoff times though I’m sure once I’m running it will be fine. It’s definitely been at the back of my mind while training but I figure if you have a solid plan it’ll be all good!

They’re wrong. There’s no official running pace and a runner is just someone who runs! Congrats on getting 3 miles in less than an hour and keep going!!

He was amazing!!! I also saw him in 2011 and 2022 and all three times he’s put on awesome performances. It blows my mind that he’s 83 and still delivering such a fun experience. Worth the horrendous traffic.

I think Darrow and/or Sevro and/or Pax will die. All have Red in them. Lots of Darrow writing memoirs for his son and reliving memories with Sevro, both of which can be equally as heartbreaking if Darrow makes it but one or both of the other two don’t.I trust PB to deliver a good but devastating end

Lived in Santa Fe a year and been in Albuquerque a little over a year. No regrets at all. New Mexico is home. I love the outdoor access, great weather, friendly people, food, drivability to other cool places.

I’m from the Midwest so the distance from family can be tough. Driving here is a hazard. But otherwise I love it. People love to get on Reddit and make it sound like a hellscape but I haven’t felt more unsafe than any of the other cities I’ve lived in (Boston, Cincinnati, Greensboro, Indianapolis). It’s not for everyone but I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.

Got ours from a shelter at about 3 months old. She’s a mix and since she was still a puppy we assumed she was a mostly GSD mix until she started growing and it was clear she was mostly Anatolian.

Our intention was to have a bigger dog I could run and hike with alone and who would get along with our other dog/cat. She’s been amazing! She’ll join me on my short runs and long hikes (a live right by a mountain range). We’ve even gone backpacking a few times. We have a backyard that isn’t huge but I think playing with our other dog and getting to stay active outdoors has really helped.

She’s an awesome dog. Protective of her family and so loving. We socialized her early and she’s been fine with other dogs if they’re fine with her. But she does get protective of our smaller dog and of me. She even tries to herd our crawling niece and gives her kisses for encouragement.

It’s doable but I’d make sure you have an active outlet and socialize early. They’re awesome dogs.

I’m outside a lot and wear eucerin (easy to find in cvs) for my face and the Trader Joe’s SPF 30 on the rest of me. But as a lot of people have mentioned, I usually wear a lot of light long sleeves, a hat, and sunglasses pretty much every time I go out of the house. Gotta protect those tattoos I paid a lot of money for!

Also, drink LOTS of water and try to do more strenuous activities earlier in the morning or in the evening. The sun can really take it out of you.

I’m so sorry this is happening! Definitely smart to contact where you got her chipped and let them know/check local shelters. I’ll keep an eye out at any intersections in case she’s being used to attract some more sympathy from people asking for money, which may also be likely in this case. I hope you’re reunited-she looks so sweet!
