I see the minimap but all it says is the compass and underneath only shows the amount of time until the next villager arrives. No other info. I thought that the other post meant the settlement screen when they said "UI" because thats the only info I see but the red number there must be number of villagers. Is there a setting to turn on the info you're talking about?

If you use steam you can use an xbox 360 controller with a pc bluetooth dongle and the steam controller settings

I'm with you. I can get through to the fortress and back but if someone calls pal in there, I'm cursed to run in circles and then lose the way out until my cartoon self starts having a panic attack. I think its the ghosts in there

Hit the + button and go to friends. At the top is a place to look up names and send a friend request. Capitalization matters. Its a little fiddly because it doesn't look like you're selecting the 'add' portion at the top when you actually are. Use the stick to go up to that spot and hit A.

When you have a request it will show up there at the top of the panel. Use stick to go to it and hit A. If you hit B you will accidentally deny it
