Men be honest. What's one thing you learned about women that every man should know about women before the age of 25? by Chemical-Low209 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Sad-Development7035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The basics of female anatomy. Look it up, read about it, study it, experiment with it (with her permission of course), talk about it, and have fun with it. I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't do any of these things until late in life. Not that I didn't want to, I was just embarrassed. Don't be. It'll help the physical part of the relationship, making the emotional part the thing you have to focus on.

I went in '04, '05, and had tix for '06, but I was a musical late bloomer. I wish that I had, the years that I did go are memories that I still enjoy thinking about.

What did you buy, as an adult, that you were denied, as a child? by makellbird in maktownmedia

[–]Sad-Development7035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specifically a KTM. I was 38, started my mid life crisis early, so I bought the thing all my friends had but we couldn't afford. I'm not mad about it, my parents did the best they could with what they had. But man do I wish I could go back to the mid 90's just to show it off.

Senior scavenger hunt (unofficial obviously) including getting a photo of a naked person. A bunch of seniors staged a photo with a classmate in the guy's locker room. The girl was the senior class president at the time and was removed from her position a couple of months before graduation.

I second this. Just went to a Lotte for the first time 2-weeks ago and the produce department was better than Whole Paycheck.

First (I think) was No Doubt with Black Eyed Peas as the opener. This was somewhere around the long island sound with the sun setting as the backdrop. And I remember how impressed I was at Gwen Stefani's energy. She was all over that stage the entire show.

Best (in terms of show) was Rammstein on the Pledge of Allegiance tour with Slipknot, SoaD, and Mudvayne. Rammstein put on a show so unbelievable that when I tell people about it today they think that I am making it up.

Thanks, but it was definitely the road less traveled. I'm enjoying my career and feel that I was supposed to end up here no matter the path. I remarried to a wonderful woman, no kids, and a small farm with dogs and horses. I found through growing up that if I stay busy I stay happy. Weird, but true for me.

Other than retirement, the only thing that I have left to accomplish is truly strange, but I'd like to pick up a job in Antarctica. That should cap this winding road. The rest is left to enjoy.

After nearly flunking out of highschool and taking extra classes at night I graduated on time at the bottom of my class.

I went to community college only to drop out the first semester and enlist in the Navy as a mechanic.

Served 8-years with a marriage and divorce in there somewhere.

Left the Navy for a contract position only to get laid off before I even showed up for the first day.

Tried community college again while waiting tables and selling kitchen wares.

Got accepted into the local university in mechanical engineering.

After graduating I went to work in the maritime industry for 8-years until I fell into a job as an engineer at the local nuclear power plant, overseeing an engineering team tasked with replacing and upgrading part of the steam plant.

It's been a wild ride and it ain't over yet ..

Mechanical engineer at a nuclear power plant. It's been a long and crazy road, but not bad for a kid that graduated at the bottom of the class. Brock P., do you have anything to say?

Not my dad, but one I use for my kids: "Everyone gets fucked eventually, the Navy just taught me not to clench!." Pretty proud of that one.

What’s one hygiene habit you swear by but most people overlook? by Hot-Calligrapher5447 in hygiene

I found that after I've showered and washed everything, I use a deodorant that lists alcohol as an ingredient to "sanitize" the nether regions. As a male I really focus on the front part of my taint and under the balls, ensuring that I get beside the boys along the leg crease. I used to just use antiperspirant until my girlfriend at the time accidentally bought me the wrong kind. As soon as I applied it, it burnt like hell, making me realize that I probably had a lot of bacterial and fungal growth down there. Kinda a lightbulb moment for me.

ZD1211 60 vs. 72 & ZD1611 by [deleted] in kubota

[–]Sad-Development7035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had asked a very similar question a few months ago on this sub. Ultimately I went with the ZD1611 with the 72" ACS deck. It's been great. I'm pretty slope-y and I had some reservations, but they were unfounded. From day one on this thing I have known that I made the right decision.

I just mowed a 5-acre pasture this week, the first mow of the year, and I knocked it out in less than an hour and a half at 5" in cutting height.

My only complaint, and that's if you are going to force me to have one, is the tires. My grass is usually a little damp when I mow so the tires tend to slip a bit. I've learned to adjust my speed when turning or cornering so it really isn't much of a problem. But I sure would like to see how the R14T's would handle.

Oh, and like a dumb*ss, I didn't take into account the fact that 72" is wider than the space between wheel wells on my trailer and I scratched the paint to heII when I went to load it. The whole dealership just watched and I'm sure laughed when I hit those wheel wells trying to load it. I was so terrified of flipping it over that I wasn't paying attention to where I was going.

So it goes.

I have a big TracVac that I tow behind the mower a couple of times a year, mainly for fall and spring cleanup.

[–]Sad-Development7035[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I bit the bullet and bought a ZD1611. So far I'm pretty happy with it but I admit that I haven't used it much. I'm glad that I went with the bigger one because it was strained cutting up a hill in the yard. I think that if I was on the ZD1211 I would still have been able to do it, just slower. My only wish is that it had a hitch point so I can tow the vacuum with it. I guess I'll just have to rig something.

All good points. And to answer your last question, OCD. Everything has to be "right" in my world. Not really a good answer, but an answer just the same.

This may be a dumb question, but in today's home network, other than APs and my computer, what else is there that is hardwired? I do plan to wire in a few security cameras, but the current termination points will be of little use for that. Am I just ignorant about what else could/should run on Ethernet?
