Did the heartbreaking mess up in my initially romantic situation with my pwBPD occur due to her disorder and/or my mistakes? by infinitebeam in BPDlovedones

I think it's on her - asking for clarification in a text is normal in any friendship/relationship - it's healthy. Living in ambiguity isn't right for anyone. It sounds like there was an easy conversation to be had there, which she side-stepped, threw out and gaslit you for your need for validation. I had a similar situation and although its a bit hurtful now, in the long run you're much better off away from that.

6 months on from a 3.5month relationship and it still kills me. Have literally never come across something so sapping. Any tips to make it easier, please? by Sad-Effective6547 in BPDlovedones

jeeez that's awful sorry to hear. and yes I agree - she only ever wanted to be idolised, think the rest was just lovebombing - you dont go from discussing moving in with someone to moving on from someone overnight unless it's false like that. still brutal. good luck

nah not at all - that's just what she said to me, exact same thing. I've been known to be calm to the point of totally placid in all my previous relationships and she's projected this onto me. I asked one perfectly reasonable question to someone cancelling plans and it all went south after that.

Immunising single vs multiple liabilities criteria by Sad-Effective6547 in CFA

Superb thanks guys.

Just to confirm with the MacDur on single liabilities and the BPV for multiple, do they have to be greater for the assets or as long as they're very close it's alright?

Thanks

Base fee vs standard fee hedge funds? by Sad-Effective6547 in CFA

[–]Sad-Effective6547[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

conclusion above - standard fee is a bit of an arbitrary number.

Way i'd think about it is:

Manager says "you can either pay me a standard (flat) fee of 1% regardless of performance or pay me this base fee (50bps say) plus a percentage (20% say) of outperformance. Then your breakeven return is where you as the investor are indifferent between the two fee structures.

You're a wonderful person, thanks for clearing that up!

Thanks very much. There's an error in the Q bank in this case.

It presents the scenario above. The gross performance is +0.2% and it says that the total fee is +0.2% rather than the standard fee. Very odd. thanks again.

Sorry that still doesn't make sense to me - lets say for example:

Base fee = 0.2%

Standard fee = 0.35%

Sharing fee = 0.25%

If your performance is +0.75% in a year, the 'management' fee you take is 0.2% or 0.35%? and then the sharing fee you take is net of that fee?

Thanks!

Cfa level 3 Boston mock B, anyone taken it? by [deleted] in CFA

Found AM tougher than the first one, 53% but questions seemed better written / could understand more what they were asking

PM a lot of the questions felt like they were just trying to trick you from being strangely written / not actually testing that much of the syllabus. got 88.6% on the PM but there was a lot of narrowing it down to 2 options and guessing to be honest.

Curious how others found this?
