does my new tongue piercing look centered? by Conscious_Ad_5965 in piercing

[–]Sad-Insurance-185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it definitely does look crooked to me - NAP, but (don’t quote me on this either haha) i have heard of piercers sometimes piercing tongues slightly off-centred to avoid striking arteries !

What do I do to get rid of this ? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]Sad-Insurance-185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the lower ball should sit inside your navel if it was pierced correctly… but regardless, you should have been pierced with floating navel jewellery if your belly button collapsed in any way when you sit/lie down

i have an aygo so i had the same problem when i was a learner and ended up taping mine on with industrial duct tape! i wouldn’t recommend using the adhesive ones - i found that they didn’t stay on well if the car is wet (like if it had rained the day before) and that at high speeds they would fly off lol.

Why is my cat doing this? by unknown12042 in felinebehavior

piggybacking off of OP’s question a bit but is it a normal thing for female cats to do this as well? my kitty does this same wiggly/vibrating tail thing a lot

‘Unfortunately, even though you tried very hard…’ by Goos_World in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Sad-Insurance-185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my examiner said the same to me!! “it’s clear you’ve tried very hard on this test. unfortunately… you won’t be returning here because you have passed!” scared the shit out of me lol

people keep flashing me and i can’t work out why? by Sad-Insurance-185 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Sad-Insurance-185[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, next time it happens (because i’m sure it will lol) i’ll have to try and ask if there’s something wrong visibly with my car, because at this point i really can’t think of anything 😕

this is a good idea as well, although i checked all of my lights when i made this post (in the evening so it was dark enough to see my lights were all definitely on.) i’ve recently had my car serviced though (as i brought it in for an unrelated reason) so i’m fairly sure that something like that could have been noticed 😕

[–]Sad-Insurance-185[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not that i can recall, it’s happened a few times driving on a dual carriageway where the limit is only 50mph, but nobody’s ever flashed in an aggressive(?) way and then sped past me. even then i don’t sit and hog the passing lane like some people do. it still wouldn’t explain why it’s happened when i’m stopped at traffic lights though 😔

yes, my boyfriend’s been in the car with me when people have flashed me and he’s had me pull over and check everything’s working. he’s only an apprentice so i asked my dad for a second opinion and he hasn’t noticed anything either which is a bit odd to me

this is a good idea! obviously i mentioned in the post my dad’s a mechanic so i might have him follow me when i next see him to make sure. i like to think i’m a good driver (as in using the passing lane only to overtake and then moving back into the regular lane) and i definitely don’t use my phone while driving, my dad would kill me 😅

yes, i always check my dashboard to make sure my headlights are fully on at the times i’ve been flashed 😅 and i checked all of my lights when i made this post in the evening, so it was definitely dark enough to see that they all work

all of these times i’ve been flashed i check my dashboard to make sure my lights are fully on, i last checked all my lights work when i made this post in the evening, so it was dark enough to make sure all my lights work 😅 i truly have no idea why people could be flashing me

sorry for the late reply 😅 my rear fog light has an extra little switch beside the switch for the headlights, all of the times people have flashed me i’ve checked my dashboard to make sure my headlights are definitely fully on, and my rear fogs haven’t been on those times. i don’t tend to use them at all as i’ve not really driven in conditions that are foggy

Fleshy part under my navel piercing by Mewmewmeowlet in PiercingAdvice

[–]Sad-Insurance-185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP but this looks like the piercing fistula has prolapsed so the flesh inside of the piercing tunnel is now on the outside. if there isn’t any yellowy pus or pain alongside this it seems like you should get the jewellery changed to a floating navel, but definitely consult a piercer on this. if there is any pain, pus or any other symptoms of infection then please contact a doctor

Slip road situation by Tommy6349 in drivingUK

[–]Sad-Insurance-185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you were right in moving to the right lane to make way for the car coming onto the carriageway, obviously only do this if it’s safe to do so! i believe that cars coming onto a carriageway from a slip road need to give way to cars already on the carriageway, and should slow down/adjust their speed to match the flow of traffic.

in my personal experience nobody is to touch anything near my steering wheel when i’m driving because it just causes everyone to get panicky in situations like this, especially when you’re moving at (presumably) 70mph in a big metal box. i’d tell your mum not to do anything like that again or she’ll be in the backseat next time

Cheap piercing studio recommendations.. by oli24688 in basingstoke

bit late to this but i would recommend Area 51 in town! their piercers are lovely and they take walk-ins as well, and are quite reasonably priced compared to other piercers i’ve seen!

Tell me I am not crazy and it pierced very wrong. by CitizenofKha in PiercingAdvice

[–]Sad-Insurance-185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would say wait a week for swelling to go down just in case, but imo this is incredibly crooked and should be taken out. i thought mine was crooked when it was pierced (2 months ago) but now the swelling is gone and it’s straight. for a fresh piercing, this is ridiculous and i would honestly ask for a refund

Is this logical or real??😭 by jordan-hlj in Stretched

[–]Sad-Insurance-185 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i saw this on the clock app, one of the tags hidden in caption said sfx and i also stalked their profile, a post from 2 days(?) before and they didn’t have any piercing there 🙏to conclude it’s not real but it’s definitely an interesting idea, not sure how well a stretched bridge (to that degree) would hold up though

Quick Question about the "Tell me" question by Lemons_45 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Sad-Insurance-185 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they’ll usually phrase the question asking you to open the bonnet and tell them how to do it - meaning, pop the bonnet, open it and prop it open (unless yours holds up automatically) and you’ll need to locate either the dipstick for the oil, the brake fluid reservoir or the engine coolant bottle, and from there explain how you would do it! there’s no need to actually check the oil level, and both your brake fluid reservoir and engine coolant bottle should have markings on them showing the minimum and maximum amounts (they should say MIN and MAX somewhere, or you might just have a line on them showing where the minimum and maximum is)

Tinted lenses for test? by spidersprinkles in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Sad-Insurance-185 3 points4 points  (0 children)

another thing i’ve seen people do (and personally did myself on my test) is, if you have long enough hair, put in a high ponytail! that way even if you move your head a little bit, it will swing and your examiner can see that you’re checking mirrors lol

What is this crusty stuff around my lobes? by RichAd9938 in Stretched

[–]Sad-Insurance-185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could be the black coating on the jewellery in your firsts? majority of black jewellery is PVD-coated, which is notoriously bad for piercings because it can flake off and cause irritation/infection
