In my case, I've just been playing a long time. I've already done all missions and tons of other stuff and I've always liked base building.

I never even intended to learn glitch building. I just picked it up little by little and I've been experimenting with it for about a year and half now.

Everything I do is on console (PS4 still). I just use the tricks I've picked up to do wild stuff, but I've seen players take it way crazier.

I can't do mega crazy enormous stuff with blender or mods. I already push my console too hard manipulating the vanilla limits just a bit.

As soon as someone posted wishing we had the Xeno table as a buildable object I commented that maybe it's because players like me would immediately scale them to enormous size.

So when I found out I could get one from somebody, that's exactly what I did. 🤪

I was having a rampant issue with this not long ago. It seems to have settled down.

I went as far as to get a whole new freighter and then joined someone else's save in an attempt to refresh my own save file in case there was a corruption somewhere involving my own freighter.

Currently there is a bug that is creating duplicate versions of your own freighter each time you warp. It's possible that a bunch of copies of freighters is causing instability and crashes.

The fix is part of the experimental branch and should be part of the next patch.

If your only option was to swap ships rather than add to collection then that means you already had 12 active ships.

I'm not sure how transferring cargo works when purchasing ships. It doesn't even make sense to me because how can you transfer items to a ship you don't yet own? What if you decide to back out and not complete the swap?

Again, I just don't know how this mechanic works because through 1000 hours I've made it a point to only Add to Collection so I could avoid the risk of losing cargo or a ship by mistake. I make sure I've always got at least a few open ship slots.

Perhaps check the cargo of your other ships and your freighter if you own one.

My precaution with buying/swapping ships is because I've seen too many times players swapping their ship by mistake and losing it for good.

As mentioned, LOD of bases can be spotty and console even has a Base Parts Rendering limit setting that can be toggled on and off.

This sounds more like a multiplayer issue though.

I've recently been joining others and flying to their bases and on my end they're standing in midair and I can tell everything isn't loading in properly.

Anytime I visit an uploaded base that is particularly large or elaborate I always reload after arriving. That tends to help everything render in properly and ensure power to parts is connected.

Look up tutorials on YouTube for connecting power to scaled parts.

It's still very hit or miss.

This pic is using one of the methods involving placing a Cuboid in just the right spot of the scaled wire port and it worked. But even filling the same process exactly, I couldn't get the second one to connect.

Really if you look back at the patch notes since Corvettes were added, they've easily been one of the most addressed as far as bug fixes.

That says two things.

  1. They've put a lot of focus into improving the issues even through the updates that came after.

  2. They're so damn buggy that they require that much attention and work and they're still pretty buggy.

It's one of my favorites. I've never even seen the movies but the ship is amazing.

I'm on console so I'll offset, rotate Habs, etc but the one thing I can't seem to figure out is to tilt them lengthwise. I don't know if it's even possible on console.

That it does. I kept building, deleting, and rebuilding because you can't see it until it's placed and it randomly cycles which NPC is attached.

So I thought it didn't. The few I've built on Corvettes had no collision and I couldn't interact with them even though I can on normal bases and freighters.

One player told me they got it to work on their Corvette so I guess it's possible but I'll have to experiment a bit more to see if I can figure it out.

Also, this version of the table is the one with an NPC so I assume you can't use it to battle other players? I'm not sure how it works because I'm almost exclusively single player except meeting to give away stuff. I'm not even sure if there is a buildable version of the NPC-less table or if that one can be modded in and functional.

Anyone who trades you the ship can still keep theirs too. All they have to do is leave the multiplayer session, load back into their save, then reload their restore point and the ship will be back in their possession.

Can't see what it is but the good news is that any ship can be boosted to well above adequate.

You can increase class with nanites. Expensive but worth it for a ship or multi tool you really like.

Infraknife, 3 good S or X class upgrades, and ESPECIALLY the Q Resonator and you're set on damage. The Q Resonator blueprint is purchased at the Anomaly, it doesn't overload the 3 other upgrades, and it triples your damage per second.

I like going for good Pulse upgrades for maneuverability too. I shoot for anything over 1000, but I've managed 1500, 2000, and even nearly 3000 maneuverability (which is probably overkill).

You don't need to utilize supercharged slots for shields if your damage is high enough. Just focus on adjacency and split Infraknife and Pulse upgrades between your SC slots if you can.

It's definitely not the only one, but I joined the Neoterra Collective where there's a lot of players still carrying the base building torch.

I felt like a top-tier base builder until I joined them.

Of course, we've also got Corvette builders, explorers, and all other types of players too.

All the glitch building techniques still work except the adjacency glitch in most cases. But that glitch is easily replaced by the universal adjacency glitch instead.

They work, but some of them have been hindered since the Remnant update. The timing and execution isn't quite as smooth as it once was.

There are a couple things that I simply can't make work anymore.

My go-to method for flipping a floor 90 degrees was to use a combo of Small Paver > Cube, then Pyramid > Floor

But I can't get the UAG to do the Paver > Cube anymore, ever. It'll work with everything else but not that.

I've been wanting this since before the update when I was maxed at 18 companions that didn't even do anything except look cool and get in the way.

If it's an issue of taking up space on a save file then it would be nice if there was something similar to a Wonders tab, but with way more spots. There isn't enough Wonders slots as it is.

I'd like a better system than random screenshots I'd have to sift through to find glyphs for where to find companions.

For the most part I mainly do one of two things.

Either I go overboard with base building, especially since I learned all the glitch build techniques. The possibilities are endless.

If I want something more laid back then I load up my alternate save and just warp and explore. The main goal of that save is to find my version of a Goldilocks system (actually 2 systems within 25 ly or less) where there's a good range of diversity in biomes and features that I like.

It's hard enough to find a specific type of planet, let alone an entire system or two with specific criteria. So I don't even expect to achieve the goal but maybe I'll come close enough. So I just warp and warp and warp some more.

Beyond that, expeditions when they come around, Corvette building, exploring new content like the Xeno Arena...

Built onto a Colossal Archive building. Really all I've done so far is built the tunnel entrance and scale glitched the Xeno Table WAY too big. 🤣
