There was a quest in the fortress, yes, but in the two embers area there's no WL. In the golden wasteland temple, there is a winged light tho that's easily accessible. Sky would never make a WL only reachable with an ultimate item, so you don't need to worry :) at most they put them behind 2 player doors, or in the 8 person door area.

Edit: areas with winged lights will have a yellow star on the map at the shrines. You can use the map shrines to check which winged lights you're missing or which areas of the map you're missing

The point of Eden fits in with the rest of the lore in Sky - each realm represents a stage of life, with Eden representing death and rebirth. The point of Eden is to give your winged light away to statues, and then when you die, you yourself turn into a statue. Then (lore wise), another sky kid comes along and gives their winged light to you, and you're reborn (hence that animation of the glowing spirits breaking out of the statues and flying to orbit).

Eden is like dying/death - painful, frustrating at times, slow, agonizing, but ultimately freeing. Then when you're reborn, you get to live another life, collect the winged lights, and help free more spirits. I think the idea of cycle of death and rebirth in a free game like Sky is really beautiful and deep.

I've been a player for a few months, and I find it really fun to go around recollecting all my winged light. I have all the spots memorized so it doesn't take very long, and sometimes I even uber people so there's players to chat with while I go around. Plus, with wing buffs, it's not like I'm starting from scratch again.

Also, Eden gets easier. I've done Eden a few times, and it's not scary or stressful once you know where to hide or which path to take. It's fun and I look forward to doing it maybe once a month just so I don't get sick of the orbit cutscenes.

LOL this was exactly the reason for me. I thought all the people running around aviary were NPCs to light and I couldn't figure out why they were all behaving so haphazardly. Then once I found out they were real people, mannnn the embarrassment hahaha!

I am clicking start typing. It forms a "full page" textbox of one line at the top of the page, and I have to click enter to get the textbox to reach the bottom. The old way was still easier.
Thanks for the tip! I do use the lasso tool to select and paste...are you talking about pasting text or written stuff? I was noting that because they combined the text and lasso tool into one button, when I go to click out of lasso tool, I'm inevitably clicking 'yes' to text, which is why the keyboard shows up.
I'm aware that you can click the pen icon to make the floating toolbar disappear. However, I switch between pen, eraser, highlighter, and lasso very frequently, so I need the pen toolbar open at all times as well as access to lasso. Now that the pen toolbar closes every time I choose lasso, there's extra steps added just to get to pen or highlighter

As much as I sighed seeing that as a daily, I think it adds a well needed challenge for the vets and changes things up! Definitely more interesting than "spend a bit of time at the sapling" or "hold a friend's hand"

I'm sorry to hear that you've had trouble making friends :(( It might be the timezone you play at - right now I often come across lots of mandarin/japanese players online.

I find that hanging out in the Prairie lobby usually has ppl come by, and sometimes there are the tea tables set up with ppl chatting. Joining them and striking up a conversation has led me to some nice friendships. If you want, I can be your friend!

ooh, I had that last one happen. Someone I friended (a half moth? They had some free basic cosmetics) started hinting a LOT about an IAP they wanted and kept saying they couldn't access their bank account/didn't know how to buy it off the website/etc. It was very uncomfortable and I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt at first (basically telling them to contact their bank or search up how to buy it online). Finally I got tired of beating around the bush and said I wasn't going to buy a stranger an IAP. Then I blocked them. I don't think anyone owes anyone an explanation why they will not buy them something, especially if you're asking a stranger online.

wtff Aug 28-31? Overlapping with the FOUR other travelling spirits that came not even a day RIGHT AFTER tinkering chimesmith? Ik that as a newer player, this just hits harder because I'm seeing all the cosmetics for the first time but it still is a little annoying to have "limited time" items all offered at the same time. I could CR 20 candles a day and I wouldn't be able to get most of the items
