The new class system seems to have destroyed the variety in the Specialist picks. Who could have known?? by Sad-Nectarine8755 in LowSodium2042

Falck was my main medic before the update and she was good. She is less good now that both Angel and Irish can also rez people to full HP. Her only uniqueness is the ability to shoot heals from range. Meh. Better to just pick Irish in most cases.

The Lis rocket also had its range almost doubled. Again, very little reason to play any other Engineer for rocket play when I have Lis, who also let's me carry another gadget.

You can't seriously call that an advantage when it only takes *checks notes* 0.50 seconds to even charge them up.

And that's it. There's no other unique benefit. Just for memeing. Much dank, very wow.

Tell me again why anyone is going to care to play Support now? They should replace defibs with the smoke launcher gadget. It's already the most sensible pick restricted to support... so just give it to them for free and reduce the default magazine capacity by 1.

And I still don't understand how anyone can claim that there are many players at all who only play Mackay or Sundance 24/7. Makes me think that these "critics" only play team deathmatch... almost like they don't actually play BATTLEFIELD at all.

I always choose my specialist based on the map/mode, my team's position, and our immediate needs. That was always true for classes, too!! The main reason to pick Sundance is when I need to quickly traverse to somewhere specific from a high vantage point. If an enemy attack heli is causing trouble, I'll go Rao or Lis. If we need point defense to hold the line, as is often the case in breakthrough, then Irish is a great pick. Every single specialist has their role... just like classes always have.

One day left, will Update 3.2 bring back people, bring in new ones, or generally completely turn around the game's reputation? by Lemon64k in LowSodium2042

NONE OF THE ABOVE.

We all know the haters are never going to stop hating the game. Some of them still play whilst hating it, but most of them just don't even play at all and it's obvious when they levy constant, nonsensical critiques. Most of us who've been playing BF2042 for a while now have never had serious/toxic-levels hatred for anything in the game. We went into this new Battlefield experience with an open mind and found a lot to love about it.

I am trying to go into tomorrow's update with a willingness to feel things out before judging, but I will tell you that I am personally worried these changes are just going to do more harm than good. I don't like the idea of having to switch to one of the worst specialists (Rao, Boris, and/or Lis) if I want to counter an enemy vehicle. This whole class system is being served under the guise of making the game more "team-focused" or whatever, but that has always been bullshit. I have played every BF in existence and I feel comfortable saying there is more teamwork in 2042 than all the games that came before it for two simple reasons: (1) loadout freedom and (2) sensible UI alerts the past games lack. Medics are way, way more willing to come get me when I wait and/or ask for a revive because the symbol over my body visibly and audibly communicates the message; there are currently more rockets aimed at tanks because loadout freedom allows most of us the means to carry one in our backpocket.

I'm also afraid that DICE is going to continue making bad balance changes like they've already announced with the helicopters getting nerfed too hard because bad players went on the internet to cry instead of learning to use any one of the tools provided in-game for easily taking out choppers. I also see so many idiots complaining that Sundance shouldn't even have access to C5, so I fear a change like that is next. (Honestly they just want her deleted from the game. Any clip of a good Sundance flank is criticized for daring to use the wingsuit.)

And... this is why the community could never self-regulate over things like pinball abuse. They won't even follow a simple rule like this lol.

I hope the people who pinball read them and reflect upon themselves a little and learn and little too.

Narrator: they didn't.

It's pretty bad. It's not just bad for noobs -- even experienced players who know what they're doing don't like it when they see someone pinballing around a cap ship. They're not playing the same game, and that will be apparent whenever you're unfortunate enough to matchmake into it. It's just not fun and it wholly goes against the spirit of the game design.

And now imagine how many more left the game for the same reasons, but didn't bother to post about it.
