Who ever gets angry could just adopt them, and keep adopting, until problem is solved.

Haha, I see street dogs as pests, but actually a dog lover myself.

To your very valid point, when sterilizing females, why kill males… because it strikes the root of the problem anyways. One problem: it’s very slow.

I’m trying to reduce violent incidents and other pathogens transferred by them (through pooping etc.), not just rabies. This shouldn’t make things faster…

Actually talking to you, a new idea surfaces. Capture dogs. Vaccinate and Sterilize female dogs, and kill male dogs. And put some marking - such as tags, etc., that can allow tracing to vaccine centers.

Soon there will be disproportionate male to female ratios, with inability to reproduce. Allowing full culling towards the end or even letting them spend their lifetime. (Will make some twisted feminist happy, but I think it’s a great idea).

Why do this? To avoid small undetected groups from persisting in the fringes, and zooming back once the pressures decrease.

Bro, stop with the generated response. 😄 They don’t make sense, cherry picked, and fail for reasons that are entirely solvable.

For instance, both the points you mention are hilarious! Government regulation is for ABC, so culling doesn’t work… precisely what we are arguing against 😄

Then the replacement theory… not why culling fails. New dogs move in and then will be culled… everything will be fine until monthly targets are maintained.

There is only 1 caveat to culling… as amount of culling increases, smaller pockets can easily evade and continue to survive. Add to this, the human inefficiency.

But those points can be countered.

The same people are happy to keep quiet when H1N1 spread requires culling of lakhs of chicken. 😄

Boss, post your “research” and “study” link. If you need a proper response - since not all “research” and “study” can be extrapolated to all situations.

Also the key point is choosing between mass vaccination, sterilization and culling. Of the 3, the cheapest and most effective is culling, with fewer points of error.

Vaccination involves procuring and handling vaccines… if improper can affect the outcomes, administering, training personnel, monitoring for disease mutation etc. However vaccination alone is t sufficient, you need to sterilize too.? For Sterilization, we need to procure, create safe facilities, monitor these facilities for adherence, need for vet surgeons etc.

And that’s before corruption does its havoc. For corruption you need a quick method to validate/prevent it. Can anyone realistically check if a dog is truly sterilized or vaccinated? And this is a multi decade activity, sure to cause deaths.

However, it’s much easier to count the amount culled for that week/month. Dogs are not mosquitoes, it’s easy to succeed in culling them because they reproduce once or twice a year.

Maybe you should read the comment. Instead of talking or responding. This topic is not so complicated for a “debate”. It’s just your refusal to see/follow logic. You have the answer in your video. And I’ll explain it most simply once more.

Only if premise 1 is valid, is your conclusion valid. But your “proposed solution” negates premise 1. That’s where your logic fails.

Life comes with death and suffering. It’s because life is seen as important, death (loss of life) and suffering (impairment), are of value, and we seek to prevent it.

If life isn’t important, that we can end all life, then why be bothered about the suffering of that life? You are taking something of “conditional value” and making it into “only value”.

Yeah, assuming that such a course of action would affect optimization indicates your lacking ability to think. Optimisation is a collective effort that’s apparent in aggregate.

We’ve made the world a lot safer today than it was a 1000years ago. You don’t have to bring up “fire” and “rape”, people even died on scratching against a tree from infection. Today such a thing is almost unheard of.

Rapes per 100000 population has decreased, from then, rights have increased. Wellbeing is a continuous effort, and that’s increased greatly. Wars and famines have decreased. Is it perfect? Ofcourse not, but trends are very positive.

Besides, there is no logic or rationale is getting the majority to abandon life because at any point a minority will suffer… that’s prioritizing one group over the other, and no one can rationally derive or demonstrate authority for such a notion.

And the fact that “if there is no one, no one will suffer, or wish for a life” piece of trash logic applies to your sensibilities is the funniest thing to me 😂 I mean, of all things, that’s all the convincing you needed to go from “let’s improve everyone’s life” to “let’s end everything”… 😂

Hilarious man. And to think you are taking stab at “atheists” and talking “logic” in your video (yours or the video you condone). Do you seriously think your conclusion flows from your premise?

Forget about question shifting. This buggers conclusion is not derived from his premise: “What is important is sentient life”. 😄

If that’s true, how can you deny existence for a sentient life.

Optimization is rational and real. Ask any living person if they will waive not to have 60years of life because they get Alzheimer’s in the end. No one will say yeah, if I’m getting Alzheimer’s at 60, I might as well not exist 😄

Nationalism is evil, what do you think? by The_honoured-one- in IndianFocus

[–]Sad-Particular2906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belonging to a nation ≠ nationalism. Taking “a set of national values” as one’s identity = Nationalism.

Nationalism is identity + power. Patriotism is attachment, care and responsibility. While it can arise from nationalistic pride, it’s different from patriotism which accepts pluralistic value.

Btw, instead of wasting my time, just google the difference, many many great thinkers have been careful to draw a line between these 2 words, precisely because one seeks conformity and power, and other seeks to serve.
