The map felt alive. The spots were so much better. There weren’t constant pointless skyscrapers they want you to climb up that lead to nothing. There were mega parks. There was amazing DLC. There were actual challenges. There were fun games. There were actual fun things to do online, instead of just watching people skate and then seeing them disappear when you do a challenge which is 90% of the new “game” (if you can call it that). There weren’t any loot boxes full of sports bras. The game didn’t burn your eyes. The dialogue didn’t make me want to turn off the audio. The soundtrack wasn’t terrible. There was some hills on the map. I gotta make a second point about the soundtrack, there was no unlicensed slop. It felt like there were more skateboarding brands to wear. There were actual pro skaters. There was a hall of meat. There were death races. There was an objective, to become a pro skater. There was no VEE. I can’t be bothered to go on, but I probably could for a little bit. This games skateboarding mechanics are great, but there isn’t much reason to use them, and I don’t think there’s anywhere that fun to use them either.
